With the red leather centres bringing some colour to the cabin, it was only right that we treated the steering wheel to a two-tone retrim to match, using genuine Mercedes embossed black leather, complete with red-stitchwork with flame red nappa upper and lower panels..

This is a #throwbackthursday completely of mine but a special moment.
I couldn’t have imagined as a 14 year old with a picture of this car on my bedroom wall, without really understanding the true greatness of what had been achieved, that many years down the line, would I not only get to stand right next to the car that instantly went down in history with an incredible back story, but then get to work for not only @mclarenauto but also the team that made it happen @lanzantelimited and trim the interiors for the McLaren F1 road and race cars over the last 8 years. Truly honoured and something that will always stay special plus the people I’ve met along the way who I have the utmost respect for the creation, building, maintenance and restoration of these cars has been awesome. Here are some pictures of this special McLaren as well as a few other F1’s. Sadly there are so many I can’t post up for legalities. Johns Fintail has no expense spared, the dash has been trimmed in Old Timer Claret leather with refurbished woods, a period correct Becker unit from @chromelondon , all new rubber seals and full cut-to-fit square weave carpet set with Old Timer leather binding..
