Ferrari 328 GTS Interior Repairs

This beautiful Ferrari 328 GTS came to d:class with a common repair job. Mickey mouse had moved himself in whilst the vehicle was being long-term stored, and fancied a diet of 80s Italian leather. This does happen with vehicles being stored over long periods of time, especially those who store their cars with vehicle storage companies near any farmland.

So, the job was to retrim both seat bases, retrim the handbrake lever, both of the seat side trims, and some of the rear bulkhead trim. Who knew mice could have such exotic dietary requirements. Mickey wasn't very tidy and left a lot of mess, so we gave the car a clean inside and out, ready for the customer.

We don't typically post this kind of work, but we are suckers here for a 1980s Ferrari, so we had to shoot it....and make a Fast and Furious parody clip. Enjoy!

Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate - Research & Development Seats

Much of what defines us is not always seen. Our research and development work, carried out in collaboration with some of the UK’s most respected names, remains largely unseen.

These projects, often highly exclusive and at times world-firsts, are where our approach to innovation, problem-solving, and craftsmanship truly comes to life.

While discretion is part of the process, we’re occasionally entrusted by private clients to bring their own visions to reality. This Aston Martin is one such example Though small, highly effective.

So the request was to create something functional, comfortable, and in-keeping with the cars interior. The seats on these Aston Martins 770 Ultimates are carbon fibre, which is amazing to look at, and there's plenty of it. However, on the seat base right where your lower back rests, is an exposed area showcasing the carbon fibre. There isn't much padding here and our customer has complained that after a long period of driving, this becomes quite uncomfortable. So we needed to make a panel to solve this issue, not look out of place, and with the option to return back to standard, if desired.

The seat already has two base bolsters, and these are fitted to the carbon seat shells by plastic poppers. We wanted to use these to our advantage and knew reusing them would be the best way forward. We also wanted a pad to sit around the back, but was unsure how this would be mounted without either glueing onto the carbon, or adding any additional holes into the carbon seats.

After some planning we came up with the idea of making one large pad that would span the entire width of the seat. We did this by creating a custom pad that uses the OEM popper holes, spans across the entire back of the base, and custom foams to ensure it blends as one piece. We then had to trim this pad to match the seats, which involved matching the Alcantara, black nappa leather, and diagonal stitching.

For additional security, we applied Dual Lock to the rear of the pad. Given the calibre of the vehicle and the potential for sustained high lateral loads on track, this provides added reassurance. Importantly, this solution remains fully reversible, leaving no residue or damage to the carbon fibre should the vehicle ever need to be returned to its original factory specification.

And so, the result, a fully bespoke seat base pad that integrates seamlessly with the OEM design, enhances comfort, and resolves the customer’s problem with a finish that looks entirely at home in the vehicle. Job done!

We also took the opportunity to capture a few additional shots of the car, because when you have a 1 of 300 V12 twin turbo Aston Martin producing 770hp in the workshop, it deserves to be documented. Enjoy.

AC Cobra Full Vehicle Restoration with Redline Engineering

This AC Cobra Mk IV came to d:class as part of a collaborative restoration with our good friends, Redline Engineering UK. The customer wanted the car completely refreshed with a new body colour, mechanical overhaul, new exhaust, wheels, a full interior retrim, and more. We were tasked with retrimming the vehicle but ensuring to keep it traditional. So no new radios, switches, or any other modern upgrades to distract you from this beautiful car.

Keeping things traditional, we selected a black Wilton carpet for the car. So we removed the old carpet, removed any old glue to ensure a fresh base for the new carpet. The floor, inner sills, centre tunnel, rear bulkhead, over mats and doors all get trimmed in carpet on a Cobra, leaving only the dashboard, seats, and any carpet binding to be trimmed in leather.

The seats came to us just as metal frames, so we were tasked with creating the rubber belts that act as the spring in the seat, followed by adding the foams for added cushioning. Through much testing (bums in seats) we achieved the perfect balance between comfort and support.

Vaumol crushed grained black leather was used for the seats and dashboard, which looks absolutely perfect in this car. Really in keeping with the style and heritage of the vehicle. We then added the new Smiths dials, the 4-point harnesses, boot floor, over mats, and installed the centre console, completing this interior retrim.

There was a gap in between the retrim as the owner decided in for a penny, in for a pound, and changed the cars colour from the dark green to Carbon black.

Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet Houndstooth Retrim

Porsche 911 Carrera GTS 'Heritage interior' upgrade

Our customer reached out to us with their Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, the daily to their GT3 RS, and tasked us with upgrading their interior with some lovely black and white Houndstooth. Those keen Porsche followers will know that this is an option from factory, known as the 'Heritage Pack', featuring Houndstooth seat centres front and rear, door card centres, and a tan leather dashboard panel. Quite a hefty optional extra in regards to price, but we were able to achieve our customers requirements at a fraction of the cost.

Before

The original interior was great as it was, we think Porsche actually make some of the best OEM interiors on the market. This one however, was eeking out for something a little extra, that added bit of spice to complete the interior. We believe adding Houndstooth to a full tan interior like this is the most effective use of the material. The tan appears bolder and more vibrant when accompanied with the contrast black and white Houndstooth pattern. Not forgetting the black leather on the dash and door card tops, that tie it all together and make the interior feel very premium and intentional.

Houndstooth, a woven pattern originating in Scotland, became a staple of classic European style before entering the automotive world. Porsche adopted it, originally known as “Pepita” in the 1960s and featured in early Porsche 911s. It offered a lightweight, sporty alternative to full leather while adding a distinctive visual contrast. Today, it’s a heritage detail loved by enthusiasts for its connection to Porsche’s golden era. Retrimming interiors in houndstooth is a great way to blend modern builds with that timeless, motorsport-inspired look.

Once the seats were completed and fitted back into the car, we were treated to an incredible sunset. So, we took the opportunity to capture the vehicle during golden hour, a rarity in the UK.

The car looks absolutely incredible and has been transformed by trimming just the seat centres and door card centres. Enjoy.

Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Houndstooth Retrim

Porsche 'sport seats plus' centres retrimmed in black and white Houndstooth... plus a custom dog bed for man's best friend.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Touring is a more understated take on the track-focused GT3, retaining the same 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six with around 502 hp, but ditching the fixed rear wing for a cleaner, more subtle look. It’s still seriously quick reaching 60mph in 3.7 seconds, but feeling more road-oriented and refined. The perfect daily dare I say ?

We were tasked with upgrading the vehicles interior with some classic black and white Houndstooth. A common upgrade requested at d:class, and be it a very effective one. This GT3 has the 'Sport Seats Plus' package, and these were originally all-black nappa leather seats. For this project, we were only tasked with retrimming the seat centres.

Our customer saw a previous blog post featuring a GT3 where we retrimmed similar seats in Houndstooth. They loved the result and wanted just that on their vehicle. Some time later, and their car is at d:class for some work!

Porsche 911 GT2 RS Frunk Retrim

Now for something truly special that we can flex our talents and attention to detail with. Our customer got in touch wanting their Porsche 911 GT2 RS frunk and surrounding plastics retrimmed. The vehicle had only recently been at another trim shop where some other works were carried out, but they were not up for retrimming the frunk. This is understandable as this is not really a trimmable item nad you cannot guarantee the outcome. This is because you essentially need to trim on top of carpet. The frunk carpet is a single molded item which comes carpeted from factory. So we needed a plan...

What we had planned was to heat shrink the carpet, retracting all of the fibers meaning we had a firmer base to trim on to. We then patterned the frunk panels and set about retrimming them in Porsche Nappa black OEM leather. Our customer also requested Porsche red thread for the stitching (Which we stock via our online store ), and that it be trimmed the way Porsche do. Some time later and we have a trimmed frunk to OEM spec!

Next, the surrounding plastics...

So the first items were these side pods in the frunk, we had to do some testing on these as we weren't sure how the shallow details would show once trimmed. But, as you can see from the first photo, all details were retained and looked incredible. Red Alcantara was requested for these in order for them to stand out under the carbon fibre bonnet.

We now move onto the surrounding plastics, where things do not get any easier. These are huge complicated plastic panels with lots of small details pressed into them. The biggest being the main central panel featuring shallow details, the Porsche logo, and a grill.

As leather is quite a thick material, we needed to get the Nappa leather skived down in order to retain the plastic details like the side pods have that we mentioned earlier. We were asked to not trim the vents, as this would take up plenty of time, driving the cost up. Our customer requested we make a cover instead, so we fabricated a metal border, attached a mesh and trimmed the border to an OEM style.

Again, we used the OEM porsche thread for the panels and made sure all plastic details were neatly trimmed. What is crazy is that from a distance, the plastics still look plastic, which as trimmers is the absolute best outcome. A job well done and another happy customer.

Ferrari 812 GTS | Part Retrim

A regular d:class customer got in touch after acquiring their new Ferrari 812 CTS, requesting some retrim work. They wanted to make the car feel that extra bit more special and tailored to their personal style. The red leather Daytona-style seats already looked great, but aside from the floor mat binding, no other elements in the interior featured red.

From our years of trimming Daytona-style seats for Ferrari, as well as the likes of McLaren, we’ve found that these interiors often benefit from a more cohesive mix of colour and materials. The result is typically a high-quality factory interior, but one that can lack the distinctive details needed to truly stand out.

Before

So, how do you make things better? We listened closely to our customer and produced a series of renders to explore the possibilities. Together, we finalised a design that included changing the seat centres to matching red Alcantara, complemented by a silver leather stripe down the middle. This theme was carried through with red Alcantara door card sections, the centre console, and the under-dash area, which also would feature the same silver stripe for a cohesive, elevated finish.

We then set to work, removing all necessary trim, including the seats, and carefully stripping the OEM black leather components and seats. As the seat bolsters were in excellent condition and not changing sepc, there was no need to replace the leather, so these were reused. The seat centres, however, were completely dismantled and retrimmed in the new red Alcantara.

Daytona-style belts are arguably the most time-consuming seat specification to perfect, due to the level of difficulty and bespoke craftsmanship involved. Each individual belt is formed from a specialist plastic, precisely punched, trimmed, and then attached to the surrounding belts and seat panels. The process quickly becomes a complex puzzle, where every element must align perfectly, remain uniform, and be entirely free of wrinkles... But the results speak for themselves.

Results

Ferrari 250 SWB No.13

Our 13th Ferrari 250 SWB retrim, and this one is unlike others we have retrimmed before, we know we say this a lot but we really do mean it. This is the first one that the customer opted for an entire Alcantara interior. The "biscuit" tan Alcantara works incredibly well with the metallic grey paint of the car. Normally customers spec their vehicles with leather

The Alcantara used was supplied to us from Boyriven, and it's official name is Sienna, code 4914. Although, we prefer our nickname for it as it is just like a Biscoff biscuit. Tonal stitching was chosen from our Autoshop to keep the interior predominately one colour, this is what was used for the diamond quilting on the parcel shelf and centre tunnel. The carpets found in the boot and footwells is also from Boyriven, this is a Wilton carpet called "Sandstorm", featuring Alcantara binding. The headlining is the same for all of these vehicles, a cream vinyl trimmed to the custom-made cantrails. Lastly, this vehicle had a roll-cage which also had foam padding trimmed in Alcantara, which was complete after the vehicle had left d:class.

Routemaster Bus Soft Play Retrim

Another wild d:class retrim, something we doubt we will ever be asked to do again, but honoured we were tasked to undertake such a large job nonetheless. This Routemaster was brought to us to convert into a child's soft play area downstairs, with a lounge/bar area upstairs. You may be thinking, "what a cool business idea" and you would be right to think so. However, this was privately purchased and commissioned for the owners son's 3rd birthday party.... A big flex indeed.

We received the bus in a real sorry state. it had definitely earnt it's retirement which unfortunately was pulled out of for this retrim. First step was to remove absolutely everything and start again. So the old seats were removed, wall panels, roof panels, the lot. We then rebuilt the buses foundations by replacing any framing, installing insulation, and running brand new wiring throughout. The goal was to have plenty of lighting, heating, and even some appliances like a fridge and TV for the the adults area above.

Next, was building the interior back up. In the downstairs children's area we built a ball pit, padded side panels, bench seating and tiled foam floors. We mixed matched the colours of all of the trim to make it vibrant and fun for the kids, a complete contrast to upstairs. The parent section upstairs had a bar, seating, stools, padded panels, carpet, and roof all trimmed. We added a pair of leather sofas too so that people could be comfortable whilst their little darlings played downstairs.

Jeep Compass Wheel Retrim

This Jeep Compass was booked in with us for a wheel retrim as it had been damaged by a garage. Not ideal! As the vehicle is a 2023 model the steering wheel was in like-new condition, this made the owner of the vehicle concerned that a retrim may not look exactly like it did from factory. After explaining to the owner the type of steering wheels we usually retrim, they were reassured their vehicle was in safe hands.

As a result, the customer now has a better than OEM steering wheel, we know this because the wheel had some skipped stitching around the back in those hard to trim places. This is because wheels are mass produced from factory and made in record time. Because we are an independent business with multiple well-versed trimmers, we are able to take our time, focussing more on the standard of finish rather than chasing units made per day.

Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale Retrim - STG

This Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale is owned by Sam, aka Seen Through Glass, who's become a familiar face at d:class in recent years. Previously retrimming his Ferrari 360 steering wheel, and his Porsche GT3 seat centres and door card centre panels in black and white Pascha.

Sam is back again with his latest purchase, a striking Ferrari 360 CS. A lovely upgrade from his 360. The interior looked a little tired from emails, so we invited Sam down so we could go through spec, materials, and dates. A decision was made to go bold! something uncommon but still remaining Ferrari. Everything red would be swapped out for a dark blue including stitching. The black Alcantara from factory had completely worn and faded, which ended up looking grey. Everything trimmable in this vehicle would also be retrimmed.

As there was a lot of changes for this project, we sent Sam a few variations in spec through our Render to Reality service. We played around with colours, materials, whether or not to change the wheel to Alcantara, keep Leather, or to mix things up a bit. A few emails back and forth and the spec was chosen.

Steering wheel: Black nappa leather top and bottom, black nappa perforated grips, blue Alcantara racing band, blue contrast stitching.

Dashboard: Black Alcantara dash top, blue Alcantara lower dash, tonal stitching.

Seats: Blue Alcantara centres base and back, black Alcantara bolters outers, black Alcantara centre stripe, tonal stitching.

Headlining + Bulkhead: Black Alcantara with tonal stitching where required.

The Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, launched in 2003, is the hardcore, track-focused evolution of the standard 360 Modena, essentially Ferrari’s road-legal homage to the 360 Challenge race car. It’s around 110 kg lighter, thanks to extensive use of carbon fibre, thinner glass, and a stripped-back cabin, and its 3.6-litre V8 was tuned to produce 425 hp, giving it a 0 to 60 mph time of about 4.0 seconds. One of the coolest differences lies inside, unlike the regular 360’s leather interior, the CS features bare carbon fibre door cards, minimal sound insulation, Alcantara bucket seats, and exposed metal details. Sam has big plans for this car, including a full exterior respray, which is currently taking place whilst we finished the interior retrim. This can happen as all of the trimmed items can come away from the cars chassis.

Another small but impressive detail was that we noticed all of the interior stickers had seen better days. We carefully removed these in order to scan them and created like-for-like recreations of the them. This involved the airbag warning, sunvisors, and fuse box stickers. Same sizes, fonts, spacing and print style were all recreated as Ferrari did from factory... which strangely we noticed huge inconsistencies. None the less we recreated those too. These are now available on our website to purchase or made to order for your vehicle.

The steering wheel. One of the most important parts of an interior, a make or break item for sure. Sam desired to make the interior more to his taste, and the big top section being blue to mirror the previous red, seemed dated. This top section is now black nappa leather to match the bottom section with a nice little twist of a blue Alcantara band, tying in with the rest of the interior.

The icing on the cake with this retrim has got to be the seats. You wouldn't be wrong thinking these were an option from factory with how at home they look in the car. We photographed the seats at d:class but have since seen them in Sam's car via images and of course his videos showing the audience around the car. The black and blue Alcantara work so incredibly well and we are glad we went with tonal stitching, to keep things just that little bit more modern. With the variety of panel colours, adding contrast stitching would feel crowded. To finish these seats off, we recreated the Cavallino Rampante and had it embroidered at the top of the seats.

At the time of writing this, we have not yet had the chance to film the car completed, however we are in talks with Sam. We filmed the entire retrim process, so one day soo we will have another d:class video for you.

Ferrari 250 SWB No.10

This Ferrari 250 SWB is the 10th in our collection. which is crazy to think we have completed 10 of these now. We love working on these cars and are glad that the customers of GTO Engineering spec these vehicles in all sorts of creative ways. This car is spec'd similar to the previous with an all leather interior and diamond quilting on the parcel shelf. A dark tan leather was selected with light brown carpets. No roll cage for this one, keeping the interior more simple. The leather is from Connollys Vaulmol range and the carpet is from Wilton.

Ferrari 250 SWB No.9

This Ferrari 250 SWB is the 9th in our collection which has received a full d:class interior. This one features a lovely Connolly Vaumol tan nappa leather. A darker tan than we have had before, this option was nicknamed "toffee" by the d:class team for its rich and warm tones. Tonal stitching where needed to keep things uniform and a lovely light beige Wilton carpet, presenting a rather homely and welcoming vibe. A nice change in pallet compared to the leather. We say it in almost every post, but we do particularly like this one.

One stand out feature on this SWB is the diamond quilting on the rear bulk-head. Also, the roll cage has some trimmed padding to match the rear parcel shelf. Not every SWB has the option of a roll bar selected, but on occasion we do see them. They make the retrim process a lot more challenging as we need to remove these in order to install the sound deadening, carpets, roof lining, and rear quarter panels. That all being said, they look incredible when completed.

Mercedes-Benz GLC AMG63 - Seat Belts

We recently had this Mercedes-Benz GLC AMG 63 First Edition in the workshop, and the owner made quite the trip, all the way from Cornwall to Surrey, just to have us work on it. He wanted the interior to match the car’s factory yellow accents, so we rewebbed the seat belts from OEM black to yellow. It’s a small change, but it really plugs everything together and gives the interior that extra pop of personality. Seat belt rewebbing is one of those subtle upgrades that’s often overlooked, yet it can make a big difference in completing a car’s look.

Ferrari 360 Modena - Part Interior Retrim

Ferrari 360 Modena Part Interior Retrim

This Ferrari 360 came to d:class for a partial retrim, by this we mean that substantial amount of interior trim was retrimmed, not quite enough to warrant a full retrim title, and definitely more than a single item. As there was multiple pieces to be retrimmed, we set about creating some photoshop renders of our customers interior to assist with settling on a final spec. We like to call this our Render-to-Reality service.

Requested Work

Our customer had a list of items they wanted retrimming, on the left is the original photo with the desired work, then underneath is the completed render. Lastly, on the right are the results of our work.

So all of the required work included; retrimming the dash top in black Alcantara with tan twin stitching, Steering wheel retrim in black Alcantara and black perforated nappa leather with tan stitching, Headlining, door card corner panels, door car pockets, centre console facia, and A-pillars. They also requested for us to install some carbon fibre upgrades which were provided by our customer.

Our customer was very pleased with the results, and even requested images of the vehicle prior to it being collected. We loved working on this 360 Modena as it wasn't your usual like-for-like retrim, it was a breath of fresh air to work with someone who wanted their Ferrari to be how they wanted. There are plenty of clean examples of a 360 out in the world, and although it is satisfying as a business to improve one, it is also very fulfilling to know you've made someone's dream a reality.

The dash tops on these Ferraris are usually tan or black leather, so Alcantara was a very unique choice, especially with the matching tan stitching. The same again for the steering wheel, this era of Ferrari did not typically have racing bands, they came much later and are usually painted. So with the Alcantara, leather racing band and contrast stitching, this is now a totally bespoke steering wheel. Then there's the other pieces like the door card pocket, those iconic but dated aluminium pockets are now black Alcantara. This choice continues for the centre console facia, door card corner panel, and centre console.

Ferrari F50 - Interior Retrim

This Ferrari F50 belongs to DK Engineering where they have recently finished totally restoring the vehicle. Full engine rebuild, mechanical, bodywork and a d:class interior.

This F50 has a unique black and yellow interior with matching accessories, a split Lorica and leather dashboard, Lorica rear bulk head panel, Lorica Hard top, and a few other interior pieces. The seats were trimming in Black nappa leather, black Alcantara and a very special yellow velour-like OEM Ferrari material, which we had remade as stocks everywhere are non existent.

Tech-specs

The Ferrari F50, produced between 1995 and 1997 in just 349 units, was conceived as a Formula 1 car for the road. At its heart lies a 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 derived from Ferrari’s 1990 F1 engine, producing 520 hp at 8,000 rpm and propelling the car from 0–60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 202 mph. Built around a lightweight carbon fibre monocoque chassis, the F50 weighed only 1,230 kg, giving it razor-sharp handling. Its minimalist approach with no ABS or power steering, this kept the focus on pure driving, making the F50 a raw, visceral celebration of Ferrari’s Formula 1 technology translated into a road-going supercar.

Bella The Bus - Goodwood Revival

Everyone meet Bella, a 1963 Volkswagen Split-screen Type 2 campervan, owned by team member Andy. Bella was invited by Goodwood to attend the 2025 Revival meeting as part of a 75 year celebration of the VW Campervan. The reason we are featuring Bella is because many years ago she received a d:class retrim for the front and rear seats. Baby blue nappa leather with cream leather binding to match the bodywork of the bus, To keep the seats looking period, we fluted the seats for that retro look.

As part of the celebration at Goodwood, all 75 split-screen campervans were invited onto the track each day for a 2 lap parade. There were many variations, in all shapes, sizes, colours, styles, and themes. From police vans, ambulances, fire trucks, decorated "hippie" buses, race team support vehicles, twin-cabs, single-cabs, and wedding vehicles like Bella.

We created some customised overalls for Andy to wear, featuring old-school style d:class logos front and rear, both with Bella illustrations created by us.

This Ferrari 430 Spyder came to d:class for a steering wheel retrim. The customer has had the vehicle retrimmed prior but was not happy with the wheel and over the years has worn. This is common as the steering wheel is in constant contact with your hands, meaning any dirt, oil, and debris on your hands get rubbed into your lovely steering wheel. With black wheels, this is hidden quite well, but on bright red leather it appears to wear faster, but infact you just see it more easily.

So for the retrim itself, we matched that leather used throughout the vehicle, a red nappa leather with red nappa debossed leather for the hand grips. A thicker than usual white thread was used for the hand stitched areas to match that of the retrim. Horn push logos debossed into the leather to OEM spec completes this steering wheel retrim.

Dave Kindig Visit - Kindigitdesign

We had the pleasure of Dave and Drew Kindig visit the team at d:class HQ. A little back story for how this meeting happened which starts back in Las Vegas, Nevada at SEMA 2024. After a long day of walking around SEMA, shaking hands, and mingling with some of the best builders SEMA had to offer, David and the team got ready for a well deserved dinner and drinks in Las Vegas, where the guys ran into none other than Dave Kindig from Bitchin' Rides. Dave liked our energy and British humour, so stuck around for a few drinks and photo ops with the team.

Fast forward some months to Barrett Jackson in Arizona, Where David and Martyn chaperoned the McLaren SLR HDK for the week. Same situation as SEMA, the guys went out for food and drinks and ran into Dave once again. This time a plan was made for Dave to come visit d:class and be shown around McLaren when he was next in the UK. Another jump forward in time and Dave had also planned to attend multiple events and companies in one hit, almost like a UK tour.

The boys were reunited at McLaren's MTC where they were shown round, including the production line, heritage departments and spec rooms. Then onto MSO (McLaren Special Operations), and finally d:class for some pizza, a chat, a tour, and meeting the team for some signatures and photos. We really appreciate Dave and Drews time and efforts, taking the time to speak with us all, and as mentioned pose for some photos. It is not everyday you meet car royalty.

Aston Martin Seat Pads Retrim

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is an exclusive hypercar, with only 150 units ever made, making each one a true collector’s item. Every interior is custom-made for its owner, ensuring a bespoke and special experience. With this Valkyrie now in the hands of a new owner, the vehicle was brought to us for retrimming of the seat pads. The seat foams were customised to fit the new owner and then retrimmed in keeping with the cars minimalist design. For this retrim, the customer requested a dark British racing green Alcantara with Aston Martin embroidery.

Beneath its striking exterior lies a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine paired with a hybrid system, producing a combined 1,320 horsepower. This allows the Valkyrie to rocket from 0 to 60 mph in under 2.5 seconds, reach top speeds of over 200 mph, and command a price tag starting around $3 million. A phenomenal feat of engineering and design, thanks to Andrew Newey, that we had the pleasure of looking after whilst here at d:class HQ.

Chevrolet C10 Truck Full Retrim

Chevy C10 Truck - Full Interior Retrim

He's back! Dougie returns with another one of his projects, this time a Chevrolet C10 truck from across the pond.

Unlike most trim shops, we offer more than just craftsmanship, we can bring your vision to life before the vehicle even comes to our HQ. Our "render to reality" service lets you see realistic Photoshop mock-ups of your desired interior. Below, you can see Dougie's Chevrolet C10: from when it arrived, to what was agreed prior to the retrim... after many variations. This idea did have us questioning Dougie, "are you sure you want the entire thing retrimmed in this Ostrich leather?" and he stuck to his guns and was adamant he wanted everything as specified in the render/brief.

Once the C10 made it to d:class, we photographed and filmed the "before" shots as we knew the results would be a huge change. An amazing truck to start with, but time to make it more unique and bespoke to our customers requirements.

For this project, we worked with our good friends at UK Hide. They offer a whole variety of extraordinary and remarkable leathers, alongside their amazing nappas and grained leathers which we usually use. This journey began when Dougie came to us with his idea, but was unsure on colour. He requested a distressed leather, similar to his W108 we retrimmed, but brown this time. Torn between which shade of brown, we eventually whittled it down to two shades, a light and a dark brown. The next request was he wanted it to look like Ostrich leather, which is very different to your normal automotive leathers. UK Hide were able to get the chosen leather debossed, making it look like Ostrich leather. The team at UK Hide really are a delight to work with and the results speak for themselves. Simply the best.

Another wild spec is the "carpets" for this truck. We tried offering Dougie some box weave carpets amongst other common ones we normally use, but as you can imagine there's a pattern forming here... if its common or the "usual", Dougie was not interested. Resulting to probably the most rogue request we have ever had for carpet, Seagrass weave carpets. To you or me, we would probably assume this material would be used for picnic baskets, and probably is. That aside, we made it work and got it laid down with some matching Ostrich leather binding.

SLR HDK | Lasering

As mentioned in the Seat section, all of our lasering was accomplished by Chris and Marc from Formation Industries. The tartan pattern was a perfect replica, even the shape and texture of a real piece of tartan material was achieved... somehow, but that's Formation Industries. We have since had samples come through with this pattern in a variety of colours which we now offer as part of any retrims. We are not limited to replicating tartan, but have previously recreated houndstooth which was lasered into distressed leather for another customer. Got a pattern in mind? get in touch and we can make it happen.

Not only did Formation Industries laser our seats, but this pattern was repeated onto the headlining and door cards. The dashboard saw multiple SRS Airbag emblems lasered into the dash top and lower dash panels. The floor mats also feature "SLR HDK" logos repeatedly creating a pattern.

Fully bespoke Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren seats, retrimmed in volcano orange Alcantara featuring lasered tartan pattern centres and black alcantara seat backs.

The seats are probably the most stand-out feature of the car's interior. The spec on this vehicle is very vibrant to say the least. Our customer likes their vehicles to be memorable, and we think this has been achieved with the volcano orange Alcantara.

To pay respects to the SLR 722 GT and its tartan interior, we wanted an orange tartan to match this. However, they did not make an orange tartan. This is where Formation Industries came in. Formation Industries can create essentially anything you can think of... literally, 3D printing, bespoke tools, super rare materials, lasering and much much more. We have worked with Chris for many years on plenty of projects, so we set Chris the task of recreating tartan through his lasering machine. As you can see, this came out perfectly and we had to explain to many people at SEMA that it is indeed lasered Alcantara. Note the SLR HDK lasered belt straps and SLR HDK silhouette in the headrests.

Team member, Laurence, retrimmed the steering wheel as this is one of his biggest strengths as a trimmer. Before the retrim, it was just your standard black leather OEM SLR wheel. We wanted to do something stand-out but not overwhelming. It needed to impress but not shock. Originally we were meant to retrim the wheel orange, but decided this was too much, so we then made some renders of the top and bottom sections being orange, but this still didn't fit the criteria. Finally, we agreed on a black Alcantara wheel with an orange Alcantara racing band. We then thought, "How can we make this special?" and as we were doing plenty of lasering, we added a small laser-etched McLaren speed mark to the racing band. Such a small feature really does make a huge difference.

Aston Martin DB4 GT Seat Retrim

DB4 GT Tillett Seat Retrim

This Aston Martin DB4 GT recently came to d:class for a drivers seat retrim. Not your typical drivers seat though, as the original has currently been replaced with a carbon fibre Tillett racing seat, as the car is a regular on the race track. This seat comes from factory as just a bare carbon shell, no foam or pads of any sort. So this meant we had to start from scratch and create a comfortable, practical, yet stylish set of pads for this seat to match the cars aesthetic.

Green nappa leather was chosen with tonal stitching for the seat back and base. Up top on the headrest, we recreated the Aston Martin emblem for our heat press machine, debossing the logo into this headrest pad, a really subtle but effective touch.

Porsche 911 GT3 Weissach Headrest Retrim

Not every job we do here at d:class is a substantial one, sometimes our customers require minor changes, repairs or OEM upgrades to their vehicles. Normally we don't post these, however given this job was for a Porsche GT3, we thought we would showcase what we can do.

So for this one, we were tasked with changing the headrest pads for this Porsche GT3 to feature embroidered Weissach RS logos. With this you cannot simply remove the previous embroidery, but instead you need to retrim the panel. So new headrest panels were made in matching OEM Porsche leather. We recreated the Weissach RS artwork in-house and had it embroidered to the correct and exact measurement.

McLaren P1 Seat Retrim

A very special post for us, as while we usually can’t share much of our McLaren interior work due to confidentiality agreements, this particular project came from a private owner, allowing us to showcase the craftsmanship that typically stays behind closed doors. So we present to you a pair of McLaren P1 seats, retrimmed in black Alcantara with white seat centres, white micro-piping, and white P1 logo embroidery.

For those unfamiliar, at d:class we can offer our "Render to Reality" services, where we visualise your requests into a photo realistic images. This is particularly helpful when torn between certain colours, materials, or styles. We use this service a lot with our big manufacture clientele, helping design and plan their more bespoke one-off builds.

For these seats, our customer was torn between light grey or white Alcantara centres, and also whether or not to opt for the micro-piping, a modern McLaren signature in their more bespoke builds, such as the Senna pads.

Ferrari F355 Berlinetta Full Interior Retrim

Probably the best kept, and well spec'd Ferrari F355 in the country, here at d:class for a full interior retrim.

You may be thinking "those are the result photographs?" and it would be fair for you to think so. This F355 came to us in really good shape, minimal signs of wear, nothing out of place, everything factory as it should be. However, this vehicle has recently been sold and the new owner desired it to be as box fresh as possible. with only 20k* miles, and a stunning choice in colour (Verde Zeltweg), no wonder the new owner wanted to keep it in perfect condition. Now sporting a full d:class retrim, this F355 is ready to hit the streets of Knightsbridge and Mayfair. Perhaps even placed on a plinth for all to see. We have enjoyed working on this vehicle, and are glad that our customer is over the moon with the results.

Returning to the F355 Berlinetta, we reupholstered the interior using Ferrari’s original Crema Nappa leather with matching stitching, both sourced directly from our own d:class autoshop . The dashboard top and door handle sections were finished in contrasting black Nappa leather, adding a subtle touch of elegance. As for the carpets and floor mats, they were left untouched; after a thorough clean, we advised the customer that a retrim wasn’t necessary. They were in such remarkable condition, it was genuinely impressive. The radio and dashboard vents were sent off to be restored, as with older Ferraris, the plastic peel and go very sticky. These will be returned to the customer when ready.

A car that is becoming more and more desirable the older it gets, the Ferrari 458 is quickly becoming a classic of the future. Being the last naturally aspirated Ferrari V8 road production car, these are expected to appreciate in value in the coming years, as everything going forward seems to be hybrid or turbocharged. This model is a spider and looks absolutely gorgeous in the sun, a well presented example might we add.

Now, why it was with us. Unfortunately, the perforated grips had worn and our customer wanted to refresh the interior with a steering wheel retrim. Black nappa leather with black nappa perforated leather hand grips. Red Ferrari OEM Stitching, supplied by us at d:class autoshop

Porsche 981 Boxster Wheel Retrim

We have here a Porsche 981 Boxster steering wheel which was booked in at d:class for a retrim. The customer bought another wheel that matched his OEM one, in order to keep a totally original one aside. The brand-new second hand wheel was black and has now been trimmed to the customers spec. Platinum grey Porsche nappa leather with shark blue Porsche OEM thread. We were also tasked with matching a racing band to the thread colour, and added this to the wheel.

Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster Interior Retrim

The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster is an ultra-rare, open-top variant of the already exclusive CLK GTR, built to showcase the pinnacle of Mercedes-AMG’s racing technology in a street-legal form. Only six roadsters were ever produced, making it one of the rarest production cars in the world. Like the coupe, it was powered by a 6.9 litre naturally aspirated V12, generating around 604 horsepower and capable of reaching 0 to 60mph in about 3.8 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 200 mph.

Unique features include a carbon fibre monocoque chassis, a fully exposed cockpit with no roof mechanism, and ultra-luxurious interior. Built strictly for collectors and enthusiasts, the CLK GTR Roadster cemented its place in automotive history not only through performance but by being a bold statement of 1990s GT1 engineering, with direct lineage to Mercedes’ FIA GT Championship dominance.

Prior to the retrim, this vehicle had a lovely purple leather interior. We are unsure of the reason why the customer wanted to retrim the interior, but the new green leather is a really nice upgrade. The Mercedes-Benz green tartan is also a very cool touch, paying homage to Mercedes-Benz's racing history. We retrimmed the seats, head rests, dashboard, steering wheel, door cards, centre console, carpets, and more. We even created a custom vehicle cover/tonneau as the customer wished to take their car to a car show in Italy. As the CLK GTR Roadsters had no hood/soft top installed, we had to create a completely bespoke cover and mounting setup in order to protect the vehicles interior from any rain.

This job was completed for the amazing team at DK Engineering, who do some of the most incredible work you will see in the automotive world, and on some of the world's most exclusive and sought-after vehicles. They are a company to follow if you do not already.

Ferrari F40 Interior Retrim

This Ferrari F40 has been meticulously restored by the exceptionally talented team at DK Engineering. If you're familiar with the automotive world, you’ll know DK Engineering as a renowned name in the restoration, maintenance, race preparation, and sourcing of some of the world’s rarest vehicles. We’ve had the honour of collaborating with them on a number of exceptional cars over the years, this F40 among them.

Originally finished in red with matching red seats, this F40 needed a full restoration. That’s where we came in, because no restoration is truly complete without a fresh interior. The customer requested the seats be retrimmed in blue Nomex, which initially struck us as an unusual choice. That was, until we heard the car was being repainted navy blue. A bold and brilliant decision.

Onto the trim, as mentioned previously, we have used blue Nomex. Firstly, we had to remove the old covers and the damaged foams. Some repairs were required and new foams were installed to ensure a nice firm, round finish as per OEM standard. We then embroidered the logo onto the Nomex material, made up the seat covers, and then fitted them to the seats.

Not only did we retrim these seats, but we actually retrimmed the rest of the vehicle, including the dashboard, A-pillars, and more. These other interior pieces were retrimmed in grey Ferrari cloth. Not as exciting as the blue but still awesome and to OEM finish!

Lexus LFA Full Retrim

The Lexus LFA is a rare and iconic supercar that blends cutting-edge engineering with unmistakable design. Produced between 2010 and 2012, only 500 units were made worldwide, making it a true collector’s item. Under the bonnet lies a 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, co-developed with Yamaha, delivering 552 horsepower and capable of revving from idle to its 9,000 rpm redline in just 0.6 seconds. With a top speed of 202 mph and a 0–60 time of just 3.6 seconds, the LFA is as fast as it is exclusive.

Inside, the LFA showcases meticulous craftsmanship and a focus on the driver. The cabin features hand-stitched leather, alcantara, and carbon fibre trim, blending luxury with motorsport functionality. Its digital tachometer was specially designed because an analog version couldn’t keep up with the V10’s lightning-fast revs. Even the seats were engineered for precision, offering both comfort and a race-inspired feel. Every element was tailored to create an immersive, high-performance experience.

This LFA was originally spec’d by none other than Rowan Atkinson, which explains the bold and vibrant interior. But times change, and so did ownership. The new custodian came to us with a clear vision: tone it down, but keep it classy.

They wanted a more modest, timeless, and premium aesthetic. Something that could’ve easily been a factory option. While some LFAs were delivered with leather interiors, we believe that Alcantara is the superior choice. So, we retained the material but swapped the colour palette.

The result? Black Alcantara throughout, complemented by a striking red contrast stitch and black carpets below.

Ferrari 250 SWB No.11

It feels like we are posting about a Ferrari 250 SWB retrim every couple months at this point, but we absolutely love these GTO Engineering revivals. Every single one is a different spec, and like this one we are getting some more adventurous colours. Photos do not do the paintwork justice, the pastel blue is simply lovely, and paired with the new blue interior is automotive perfection.

This 250 SWB has an amazing spec, the blue Connolly leather is amazing, super soft, and high quality. We use the same branded leather for all of these retrims to keep them uniform in standard. The seats have dark blue corduroy centres, which is a really nice touch, Quilted bulkhead with foam to create that 3D look you see, again a really nice detail as some of these cars get carpet or plain leather here. We also trimmed the roll cage in the same leather, really completing the look and feel of this car. Blue carpet has been selected with leather binding to keep the blue theme throughout the car, making the wooden steering wheel and chrome details that bit more stand-out.

Ferrari F40 Seat Retrim

Another bucket-list car that we are over the moon to have worked on, the Ferrari F40. A poster car for myself and others at d:class. We received a message in our inbox from the new owner of the vehicle wanting a like-for-like retrim of their original F40 seats. This red Nomex material is very hard to come by and not many companies are willing to sell it. However, we managed to get some and had the embroidery completed. All fresh and ready to be installed into what many of us would call, their dream car.

Porsche 911 992 GT3 RS Seat Retrim

A pair of Porsche 911 992 GT3 RS seats that have come to d:class for a retrim. Our customer recently purchased these seats as an upgrade for their car, but had the incorrect stitching and embroidery colour. The seat centres were also not to the required spec for our customer so these were also down to be replaced.

Black nappa leather has been used for the seat surrounds, including the headrest. Orange stitching was supplied by AMAN through our own dclass autoshop, where we sell approved manufacturer threads. We created the artwork for the embroidery on the headrests, these were the same OEM Porsche orange used on the stitching, just a thinner gauge. Lastly, the centres were retrimmed in dark grey Alcantara, almost like a carbon black Alcantara that McLaren used.

Sadly, no vehicle to show for this one as our customer had these seats delivered and picked up from our HQ.

Porsche 718 Spyder RS Retrim

It’s not every day that we receive such a vibrant and distinctive request. Our customer initially reached out in search of a trim shop to support their current build. When we discovered it was for a Porsche Spyder RS, a truly formidable machine, we were instantly intrigued and asked them to share the details. What followed took us by surprise. The request was undeniably bold, and we were equally impressed by our customer’s confidence in their colour choice. With the car’s exterior finished in Frozen Berry, a striking Porsche option, they asked for an interior in none other than “bright pink” to match.

At d:class, we can offer renders to help you when customising your interior. What this means is we can photograph your vehicle when it arrives, or edit images provided, and visualise what you are requesting. This can also help with exploring additional options, colours, and materials. We use sample photographs of materials from our sample books to ensure an accurate representation for you.

Please check out our renders below which were actually sent to our customer. This is becoming a common practice for us as we work with well-known companies and manufacturers on bigger restorations and development projects.

Starting with the dashboard and centre console, we removed the OEM grey Alcantara (aka as Race-Tex to Porsche owners) and replaced it with the pink Alcantara, with matching pink stitching. Originally the centre console was going to be left out, but the shape of the dashboard flows into the centre console, so we advised to trim these panels too.

The seats were from a GT4 which provide more support and comfort to the customer, so we had to trim them to match the rest of the vehicle. Pink Alcantara centres with new black nappa leather outers, pink stitching, and lastly an embroidered logo on the headrests.

The door card tops were black nappa leather from factory, but the customer requested that these be retrimmed in pink leather to match the vehicles new identity.

Mercedes-Benz W113 Full Retrim

It has been a while since we have completed a full interior retrim on a Pagoda W113. As we find ourselves doing more and more business-to-business work, private restoration work like this has become more of a rarity. We adore the Mercedes-Benz Pagodas, and it is immensely satisfying knowing that this restored vehicle will be back on the road soon with a d:class interior.

This W113 arrived to us straight from it's respray where it is now sporting a dark metallic grey paint. The customer chose a lovely soft red leather interior. The specifics of which are as follows; Dark red old-timer leather with basket weave seat centres. "Rabbit ear", or more commonly referred to as "Cat ears" in the UK, headrests, door cards, dashboard, A-Pillars, deck lid cover, under dash, and kick panels were all retrimmed in this leather. Red twin-loop carpet has been used with leather binding and we also installed a new black hood.

Lamborghini Huracan STO Seats Retrim

A new customer of ours got in touch via our website for an OEM+ seat retrim for their Lamborghini Huracan STO. The original seats come as standard with stripes up the middle of the seats in black leather. We were requested to change these for a more suitable yellow Alcantara to match the OEM piping and embroidery. Some hours later and we have a much improved set of seats which definitely look more Lamborghini-esque. Another happy customer.

Porsche 918 Spyder Steering Wheel Retrim

Another high calibre vehicle at d:class, 1/3 of the Holy Trinity from the early 10's which included the Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1, and Ferrari LaFerrari. This now makes it 2 out of the 3 we have worked on, the other being a McLaren P1. We have worked on tens of McLaren P1s, but none that we can post publicly. If you do like P1s, you should look at Lanzante, they build some fantastic cars...... ��

Now, back to business. This 918 Spyder came to us for a steering wheel retrim as the new owner wanted the car to feel nice and fresh for them. They love Alcantara so decided to replace the OEM leather with Alcantara. This included replacing the grey leather racing band to a grey Alcantara one. Lastly, our customer also wanted to change up the stitching from black to grey. The vehicle now feels much better and the grey stitching catches your eye when looking into the interior. Another happy customer!

Mercedes-Benz W112 Fintail Full Retrim

As Mercedes-Benz specialists at d:class, we were very excited when this job came through our email inbox. Not only a fantastic example of a W112, but a modified one. Those who know us will be familiar with our roots in the modified car scene, so this job is right up our street.

This is a similar job to one we completed in recent years, a W108 belonging to our good friend, Dougie, with another large Mercedes-Benz on airride suspension with a custom d:class interior. Feel free to check that out here.

This is how the vehicle arrived to us, with a near stripped interior, but still featuring the previously retrimmed seats.

The job was simple, create a complete bespoke interior which featuring the correct basket weave seat centres, fabricate new door cards and a centre console, create and install a new headlining, and brand new carpets.

The leather used in this retrim was black Muirhead Lustrana which is some of the best leather we get the pleasure of working with. The basket weave seat centres were created with the same leather. Custom flutes were made with our selection of foams to create plump yet reinforced seat centres. The door cards, arm rests, B pillars, centre console, parcel shelf, and more were all retrimmed in this luscious material.

The Headlining was custom-made from black vinyl which covers all the way back to the rear parcel shelf, doubling as a C pillar. We fitted the woods for our customer which are found on the A pillars, door tops, and dashboard.

McLaren 675LT Seats & Wheel Retrim

Another pair of McLaren seats retrimmed here at d:class. We have seen a recent influx of private customers coming forward, requesting seat and steering wheel retrims. This customer approached us requiring an initial seat retrim due to them not particularly liking the hexagonal embossed pattern on their seats. Something more sleek, timeless and colourful to match their car was discussed, and here at d:class we specialise in bespoke, so we set to creating some renders for our customer, assisting them with colour, material and style options.

Whilst the seats were being retrimmed, we set about trimming the steering wheel. We were requested to add a racing band, which is a very popular request on McLarens, and we did this in orange nappa leather to match the vehicles interior. The rest of the wheel was trimmed in black nappa leather and sewn together with orange stitching. This is a speciality of our trimmer, Laurence, who completes the majority of our steering wheels, who you may recognise from our digital content.

Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG

At d:class we love rare and special vehicles and are fortunate enough to work with some of the world's most exclusive vehicles. This car is a prime example of this being only 1 of 40 RHD Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG's ever made, and only 1 of 6 as a convertible. Originally it was planned to have 80 produced, but this was drastically reduced to just 6. From our research, this may be the only example in black.

The Job; So this CLK DTM AMG came to d:class for a few things. Firstly, The front seats and rear seat pads needed a retrim as the customer desired a colour change from the OEM red leather centres, to a more sophisticated grey Alcantara. The leather was also replaced for a like-for-like grey nappa leather with grey stitching.

Next up was the soft top hood, This is no longer a service we offer, but we honoured it for this vehicle as it is going to MB World, to be put on display for the public to admire. This was just a simple black OEM hood replacement as the previous one had some signs of wear.

The OEM wheel was black nappa leather with red stitching, but keeping with the more mature look this CLK DTM AMG now showcases, this was replaced with black Alcantara and black stitching. We think it really improves the interior, and in some way makes it feel more race-inspired.

Final touch was a brand new set of floor mats, featuring the AMG logo in a silver stitch to match the OEM ones which had become very worn through years of use. Matching OEM carpet was used so these fit right in, as they should.

Ferrari 250 SWB No.8

Ferrari SWB 250 Full Interior Retrim No.8

On to our 8th Ferrari 250 SWB, and a red one has finally passed through our doors. From speaking with the company we trim these for, it seems a lot of their customers prefer specifying their vehicles blue as an homage to Stirling Moss' lovely 250 SWB. As much as we love the blue, it was a great change of scenery having a red one here, and with a phenomenal specced brown interior.

Chassis

Like always, these vehicles arrive with zero interior, just bare metal chassis' and seat frames. We then set about fabricating and adjusting all these panels and parts to fit perfectly. Once this has been achieved, we set about retrimming those parts and slowly building the car up.

Before any material can be placed down, we need to sound deaden the vehicle. We only use the best, and the best is Dynamat Europe. We are using two of their products on this project; Dynaliner which was used inside the roof, and in both driver and passenger footwells. Dynamat is the second and was used in doors, rear quarters, rear bulkhead, and tunnel. These products are great for preventing road noise and vibrations, making the vehicle feel much more solid and a more pleasant place to be.

Materials

This vehicle was specced to have a beautiful brown interior, and at first we weren't sure if the brown and red would be the best combination, but we were completely wrong. The brown and red really showcase a feeling of class and elegance, a more premium feeling compared to the other more track-focussed vehicles.

Brown Italian wool carpet was selected for all carpets and over mats, including the rear bulkhead. The leather seats, door cards, parcel shelf, roll cage padding, centre tunnel, and carpet binding were all trimmed in UK hide-supplied brown Vaumol leather.

Results

Below, see the results of this 250 SWB retrim. From here, the car goes back to our customer for final tweaks and any additional mechanical work. This being our 8th completed Ferrari 250 SWB project, enjoy our previous retrims in a variety of specifications.

Ferrari 250 SWB No.3

Welcome back to our Archive blog! If you like classic Ferraris, fabrication, and interior trimming, then we have the post for you! These are becoming quite the regular site around our workshop being the third one we have completed, and we are not mad about that one bit! This Ferrari 250 SWB came to us in a similar condition to the previous two, essentially a bare metal shell that requires a FULL interior fabrication and retrim.

Before

Because each of these Ferrari SWBs are hand built, this means that they are ever so slightly different from one to the next. Now this doesn't mean panels are centimetres off, its points of millimetres for some of the interior panels. We make everything here at d:class totally bespoke to the car, so one of the first steps is making sure all of these interior panels line up perfectly before being trimmed and installed.

It is very common for vehicles to turn up at d:class fresh from body shops with no sound deadening. We always use Dynamat Europe for all of our needs, especially the Dynaliner and Dynamat Xtreme.

Sound-Deadening

The seats are the most complex part of the project, as they are essentially metal frames when they arrive, which we then build up into a complete and trimmed pair of seats.

Tan nappa leather was selected for this project, much like the leather chosen for build No2, but in a slightly different shade. Custom foamed bases and bolsters were built up and moulded to accommodate the new leather.

Carpet

The previous 250 SWB had a carpet to match the colour of the car. This time around, the customer has selected the Wilton carpet to match the tan leather found on the door cards, seats and centre tunnel. We love how this ties all of the interior into one, being the same colour, it really gives this vehicles interior a luxurious finish.

Roll Cage

This build is the first that has required the roll cage to be trimmed. At the point of writing this blog, one other car had a roll cage but did not required trimming. Once again, the same tan leather has been used to match the interior with foam underneath to provide a little bit of comfort, if you were to bonk your head from some "passionate" driving.

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera - Floor Mats

Another Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera through our business. This customer actually saw our previous blog post about custom new mats and reached out. They expressed that they had been searching for new mats for months, but to no luck.

As you can see by the reference image above, the seats have a great perforated stripe down the middle of the seats, which follows onto the floor mats. Both this customer and the previous explained that the mats fall short and wish they made them longer. So these new mats have also been extended, making this project and OEM plus one.

Black brushable carpet was selected with charcoal Alcantara binding with matching grey stitching. We measured and designed the centre stripe to the OEM size and spacing. This was then lasered onto the same charcoal Alcantara with a light grey Alcantara backing, to match our customers' interior.

BMW E30 M3 Retrim - Redux Leichtbau

If you are a BMW fan, take a seat. We introduce the reimagined BMW E30 M3 by Redux Leichtbau, meaning lightweight in German.

These may look like just regular E30 M3's with some light modifications; however, there is a lot more to them. The bodywork panels are now carbon fibre, a totally reimagined interior (which is where we come into things), a fully rebuilt and modified 4-cylinder engine, a stiffened chassis, and improved handling. There will only be 30 of these hand-built UK-made E30 M3's by Redux, and we are delighted to be involved in this project.

New Paragraph

Before any interiors turn up at our headquarters, we have a specification form that is filled out and put into our system. This streamlines the process and prevents any confusion between projects. From these illustrated spec sheets, we know what material, colour, thread, and any additional details may be required for each job.

Materials are ordered, designs are made, and interior trim is stripped and ready for retrimming. The seats for this retrim were specced to have black grained leather with perforated seat centres featuring the Redux Leichtbau emblem. We hope for some variety in spec so that we can bring you a mixture of finished projects.

The dashboard was also retrimmed in the same black grained leather. These dashboards did not come trimmed from the factory, so custom patterns were made and these will be used for future projects. Black twin stitching was selected to match the rest of the interior of the vehicle. Lastly, some minor adjustments were made to the dashboard to create a better, more refine finish.

The centre console also had adjustments made to house a new switch panel made from billet aluminium, which replaces the plastic OEM centre console.

The steering wheel is pretty straightforward, we suppose it is hard to improve on the perfectly simplistic design of BMW. We have retrimmed this wheel and horn push in black nappa leather with black twin stitching. Alcantara has been selected prior to this wheel, both equally elegant.

The Redux E30 M3 door cards are vastly different from the factory ones. Firstly, they are made from carbon fibre, reducing weight. They are also a "race car" inspired design, with the removal of any grab handles and door pockets. Rather than a sheet of carbon fibre, these door cards are trimmed to ensure a retro-mod feel.

Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Full Retrim

A little trip down memory lane, back to 2019 with this Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. We accomplished a full interior retrim for this vehicle for one of our loyal customers.

They requested that the entire interior be retrimmed in red leather and Alcantara. However, not just ordinary Alcantara, but custom CNC stitched Alcantara from our sister company, d:class Auto Stitch. Red nappa leather was used for the dashboard, steering wheel, seats, doorcards, rear quarters and more.

We love working with our customers on supercars such as this, as we get to showcase what d:class can achieve with an interior retrim.

Lamborghini Aventador S Wheel Retrim

Something a little spicy for you: an Aventador S steering wheel retrim. This is about as close to perfection as you can get in the automotive trimming world, in terms of spec and finish. We are proud to have results such as this one under our belt.

The OEM wheel came to us with worn and clumpy Alcantara which needed fixing. Our customer requested an OEM+ retrim, and for it to look better than the original.

Spec: Black nappa leather was selected for the top and bottom sections of the wheel, with the alcantara side sections being replaced with perforated black nappa leather. The reason for this was for a harder wearing and longer lasting material. As lovely as Alcantara is, it wears incredibly fast if not taken care of properly. It is such a shame as it is a phenomenal-looking material

Ferrari 456M GT Dashboard Retrim

This Ferrari 456M GT came to d:class because it had the usual leather shrinkage found on the 456 dashboard. This tends to be caused by the Italian leather hides holding a lot of moisture, making them feel very soft and malleable. However, this means that areas of the interior exposed to the sun are susceptible to being dried out and as a result, shrink.

Once the dashboard was removed, along with the passenger airbag and driver binnacle, we then needed to remove all of the leather and old foam that lay beneath. This takes quite some time, but it is surely worth it in the end. We then installed new foam which is then lightly sanded to give a lovely rolled edge, ensuring a OEM finish.

To guarantee the perfect finish, we selected genuine Ferrari leather. The only drawback is that, at the time of this retrim, the original material was thirty years old, so new leather cannot be compared to it. We advise a complete retrim for this reason. But as our customer uses this vehicle every day, they were solely concerned with fixing the interior sections that had been sun-damaged.

Results

Mercedes-Benz W111 Cabriolet Seat and Carpet Retrim

This Mercedes-Benz W111 came to d:class for two reasons; both front seats retrim and for all new carpet. The carpet was very badly worn and discoloured. The vehicle is used as a daily driver, which surprised us to hear, which explains the extent of the wear. The seats had holes in the bolsters, among other issues like the failed horse hair foams underneath. Not to fear as we corrected all of this and the end results are amazing.

First, we had to remove all of the seats and put them aside, then we removed the lambswool over mats and carpets that lay underneath. At this point, you realise how much work is involved in making bespoke carpets for a car of this size. Using the old carpet as a guide, we then cut out the new pieces, gave them some new vinyl binding and began reinstalling them to the prepared chassis.

Although the carpet is now perfect and better than the OE finish from Mercedes-Benz, the customer wishes to lay a new set of Lambswool over mats. This is to maintain the look of how they had it before; it gives a more luxurious finish to the interior and reduces road noise.

Moving onto the driver and passenger seats, we start with the material. Old-timer black nappa leather was selected for the seat bolsters and basket weave seat centres. This is a like-for-like remake of what Mercedes-Benz created back in the day, we retrim all of our Mercedes restorations in the same material (colour dependant). Foam flutes are added and then the rest of the seats are built up too. Period correct leather piping finishes off the edges of these, making them look absolutely fantastic.

So here they are! Sadly for us, we only got to work on some areas of the car, we wish we could get our hands on the rest of the interior for you guys, to showcase what it is d:class can truly achieve. Luckily, a few years ago we retrimmed a W111 Cabriolet, so check that out featured below. But before that, please take the time to view these images of the finished seats. Volkswagen Caravelle Seat Retrim

Introducing this Volkswagen Caravelle Ocean, The perfect holiday getaway vehicle. This Caravelle visited d:class for both front and rear seats retrim. The customer requested for all the seat centres to be retrimmed in Volkswagen GTI orange tartan fabric. Additionally, they asked for the seat outers to be retrimmed in black grained leather. We made sure to recreate the seat pockets found on the back of the front two seats, completing this OEM+ upgrade.

Lotus Esprit S1 Part 4 - Your new Lotus, 007

We are proud to announce that the Lotus Esprit S1 project has been completed. It has been a tricky project with plenty of speedbumps along the way, but we are now ready to show you all the results of our hard work. We would normally say farewell at this point, but we will see this car again very soon for another d:class parody video, "The Guy Who Loved Me."

These cars are becoming increasingly rare, so restoring one to its former glory feels incredible. With it being a Bond homage car, it fills us with joy that plenty of people will enjoy this car for years to come. Not all

With a variety of Esprit series that followed after the first, we believe this to be superior with its mix of materials and colours. So when that initial email came through requesting a quote for a retrim, we were very excited. We think the factory interiors are fantastic, so no real changes were required, just replacing everything at a much higher level of detail whilst trimming around Bond's gadgets.

Lamborghini Gallardo Supperleggera Wheel + Mats Retrim

A more modest job to come through our doors is this Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. The customer contacted us about a steering wheel retrim and both floor mats.

The steering wheel was in a bad way; being suede from the factory, this material does not age well, especially on highly used areas of a car (door handles, steering wheels, gear knobs). Our customer requested to retrim the wheel with Alcantara for a more modern look, with light grey stitching, a change from the OEM black.

The floor mats were badly worn due to a poor design choice from Lamborghini by putting a fragile piece of perforated Alcantara where your heel rests. This is not the smartest of decisions, and after some years of use, the Alcantara has unsurprisingly split. This pattern has been recreated and laser cut, backed with grey cloth, added to a new piece of black carpet, and binded with some matching dark grey Alcantara. Lastly, the mats have been extended, as from factory they fall short and do not reach underneath the seats, a really smart upgrade.

Lotus Esprit S1 Part 3 - Trim another day

Part 3 of this series, and we are tackling the retrim for the Esprit.

For a smaller vehicle, there is still plenty to retrim. We have the roof lining, the bulkhead, A, B, C pillars, the dashboard, the centre console, both seats, door cards, carpets, mats, sun visors, a switch panel, a new touch screen, and plenty more...

In this part we will go through the retrim for some of these key areas, explaining the materials, how we go about retrimming a vehicle of this age with next to no photo references, and what the customer intends to do with the car when it is complete.

These Lotus seats arrived to us trimmed but were not to the standard the vehicle owner wanted. They were complete, with no tears or damage, they just did not fit 100% leaving room for improvement on the retrim. So we stripped the seats leaving just the frames and built them back up, reusing the foams as they were in great condition, as mentioned in part 2.

Once this was sorted, it was time to start building the sets back up, starting with the materials. For this retrim we had to make a fair few phone calls searching for a supplier who had this material available. Turns out this proved difficult and a new batch of the red and green tartan was made.

Onto the main feature of these seats, the padded flutes on the seat centres. A mix of foams creates these flutes which make these seats very unique, a common sight on our usual Mercedes-Benz content, however on this lotus they are spread out, and horizontal. Compared to the previous retrim, the way we have created them is to perfectly line up the flutes with the lines found in the tartan. It's all in the details. Red twin stitching completes this seat retrim.

A stand-out feature for this project is the centre console's "radar" screen. The car originally had a makeshift screen with some stickers, referencing the gadgets found in The Spy Who Loved Me Lotus. But we weren't happy to do the same for our customer, so we present to you a bespoke screen and housing, featuring a radar with bleeping, parking camera, Apple/Android CarPlay, and dash cam. The bespoke housing, which is trimmed, is to pay homage to the bond car by fitting in and looking like it would of belonged in the film.

These door cards feature the same tartan found on the seat centres, just a little smaller but equally as important. To complete the style of this very unique interior, the orange, green, and red should not really work together but somehow do. The three of them together scream 70s, and we are all for it. A classic piece of British automotive history, no other Esprit interiors even come close to this.

Porsche 911 GT3 Houndstooth Retrim

Porsches are becoming a familiar sight around d:class, maybe we ought to promote ourselves as Porsche specialists... That aside, we have this lovely Porsche 911 992 GT3 which has just had its seats and door card centres retrimmed in black and white houndstooth. This is quite a common request for modern Porsches, as it is not offered from the factory, apart from one specific heritage model. Similarly, the psychedelic Pasha pattern is also frequently requested.

What makes this retrim different from previous Houndstooth retrims is that our customer requested the OEM "U" shape in the seat backs, be repeated into the Houndstooth. This is to make it feel more of an OEM+ upgrade, more than an after-market customised retrim. We also kept the Dinamica centres

Lamborghini Aventador Steering Wheel Retrim

This wheel retrim is brought to you by this rather modest Lamborghini Aventador. Compared to other Lamborghinis we work on at d:class, the satin grey seems almost calming. The body colour is Grigio Estoque but features a satin PPF wrap, resulting in the finish you see here.

The interior features premium materials you'd expect from Lamborghini, such as black nappa leather and Alcantara. Accompanied by striking green leather accents and stitching, it familiarises us with Lamborghini's vibrant norm.

Before

The steering wheel was in OEM form when it arrived with us. The top and bottom sections of the wheel came in black nappa leather, and the side sections were black nappa perforated leather. Lastly, the wheel came with green hex stitching.

Our customer requested a couple of changes for their wheel retrim, the first being a material change from leather to Alcantara, the next was to add a racing band. Rather than having different styled sections, this was changed to just plain black Alcantara. The racing band was requested to also be Alcantara but as close to the green found in the interior as possible. Lastly, a green thread was selected from our stores department to match the other stitching found in the cockpit.

Mercedes-Benz W113 250SL Full Retrim

Another Mercedes-Benz W113 through our doors at d:class. If you are unfamiliar with our work, we are Mercedes specialists and have a huge variety of documented Mercedes projects here on our website.

At the time of writing this blog post, this is the most recent W113 Pagoda we have completed. For as long as we can remember, we have always had an ongoing Pagoda project on our premises. However, once this vehicle is completed, we will be without one for some time.

Starting with the seats, we have these adoring blue leather seats, which have been retrimmed to traditional Mercedes-Benz OEM specifications. Our customer was presented with a choice of three blue leathers which Mercedes originally offered from new. The leather selected is middle blue old-timer nappa leather, with basket weave centres in the same blue leather. We also created piping to the correct size with the same blue leather. Brand-new foam flutes were created and installed into these flutes. Additionally, new "horse hair" foams were replaced, which are now made from coconut hair.

Box weave blue carpet was selected for this retrim. Mercedes-Benz only offered one shade of blue, so this lighter tone really works well with the middle blue nappa leather. Definitely the right choice. The same blue leather has been used for all carpet binding, completing the lower half the vehicle nicely.

To some unfamiliar with W113 models, it was possible to have a third seat installed as an optional extra. This specific vehicle did not come with this option, however, our customer managed to source a third seat for us to retrim for their car. We also installed a seat belt for this seat to make sure any daring passengers are as safe as possible.

Porsche Cayman GTS Wheel Retrim

This Porsche Cayman recently came to d:class after the owner received multiple recommendations about us. They requested an OEM Porsche "charcoal" Alcantara steering with an additional red Alcantara racing band, and red stitching.

This is a fantastic OEM+ upgrade that substantially improves the feel and environment of the Cayman's interior. The GTS is already an impressive improvement on the standard Cayman 981, so this steering wheel retrim does make it feel even more sporty. Amazing Airstreams - Seating Retrim

Our esteemed client, Amazing Airstreams, recently contacted us for another soft furnishings retrim for one of their Airstreams. Once the work was complete and installed, we took this opportunity to visit Mark at his Unit, to photograph our work in two airstreams we have worked on.

It was great to see the finished product of these Airstreams, they are totally unique and nothing like what we are used to seeing in caravan parks across the UK. It is crazy to think some of these airstreams are 70 years old!

We use leather for these seats; vinyl is also an option, but nothing compares to the superior quality of leather. We thank Mark and his customers for always opting for vibrant and colourful interiors. The cushions reflect throughout the interior with the polished aluminium, which is astonishing to see in person.

Lotus Eleven Partial Retrim

A regular customer to d:class automotive brought down their Lotus Eleven for a partial retrim. The car was originally dropped off to our neighbours at Multi-Tech Coachworks for a respray, but saw that we do automotive trimming and decided to get the interior retrimmed too.

As you can see from the before images below, this Lotus has undertaken quite the transformation.

Starting off with the drivers seat and back panel, these were retrimmed in deep blue nappa leather from the Autolux range by Uk Hide Co. Once this was done, the customer chose to get the dashboard panel retrimmed in black grained leather. Next was the steering wheel, this was originally a wooden wheel but now has been modified to accompany the new leather trim. Red nappa leather with hand sewn blue stitching to match that found on the drivers seat and back panel.

McLaren P1 Seats Customised

Another pair of "P1 style" seats through our doors at d:class. This pair came to us in plain black Alcantara with "720s" debossed into the headrest. Our customer wanted to take inspiration from another pair of similar seats they had seen online. They requested bright green Alcantara to be used with additional micropiping in the same green to add a little more substance and flare. The same black Alcantara, but new, was used for the rest of the seats.

For the centres on these seats, we use a method called "layering," which involves two layers of Alcantara. In this instance, these layers are bright green and black Alcantara. The top layer has received custom laser-cut McLaren chevrons removed, which enables the green to be visible underneath.

Lotus Esprit S1 Part 2 - It has to look worse before it gets better

Part 2 of this series, and we are making the car look worse...

but it has to, for it to get better.

At the start of any big project, we always strip down the vehicle and safely store all parts away. So we carefully removed the seats, dashboard, headlining, door cards, rear bulkhead, and all carpets. The Lotus Esprit is a unique car because the body is all fibreglass, making it very easy to strip down, clean, and prepare for new carpets. With the majority of restorations, this is the golden opportunity to install sound deadening; however, these vehicles did not come from factory with this, so the customer opted to keep the originality of the car.

Once all the carpet had been taken out, and any old glue was removed, and we noticed a repair was required on the bulkhead. As these cars are all about lightweight, and carbon fibre was not an option back in the 60's, wood was used which in hindsight is not the best of options. However, this has been replaced and progression carried on.

Next up was stripping the seats down to their foams, and removing any other old trim from the dashboards and doorcards. As previously mentioned, the vehicle is not in too bad shape, especially the seats. However, our customer wants to ensure a consistent finish so everything must be replaced to look brand new. some steam was applied to the seat foam, this helps the foam almost 'inflate' back to its original shape. If foams are ripped or split, we can attempt a repair, but if not new foams can be ordered or made from scratch.

A difficult material to locate was the red and green tartan cloth. From our knowledge, the only vehicle to run this exact material was the Lotus Esprit. After following rumours and whispers about a potential supplier in the UK, a single roll of material was purchased. Matching Green cloth and orange carpet were also sourced and purchased.

At the time of writing this, lots of progression is taking place, and we look forward to showing you even more content!

Mercedes-Benz R129 Seat Retrim

Possibly the cleanest Mercedes-Benz R129 to come through the doors at d:class automotive. This SL500, with only 47,000* miles, was booked in for both front seats to be retrimmed and the door card speaker covers. This car really was something special, we gauge this by how many d:class team members come out to look at a new arrival... There were quite a few. The interior features Helios front and rear leather seats, door cards, and carpets.

Here are the before images. Apart from the usual bolster wear, the seats were in incredible condition. However, our customer wanted the entire seat to be the same matching condition. This then led to both of the front seats being retrimmed to ensure a perfect, long-lasting finishing result

Lotus Esprit S1 Part 1 - The name's Bond...

Possibly the most iconic car to come through our doors at d:class, the only competition being that of the Batmobile we created the interior for in 2022. So this story begins some time ago, when we received an enquiry about retrimming a very special Lotus Esprit S1. We invited the car down to our HQ to take a look round and come up with a plan of attack.

After taking a look around, it was clear why our customer desired a retrim. The Esprit had been retrimmed prior, but the results were a bit uninspiring. The correct materials had been used; however, the material had begun separating prematurely. Our customer was very impressed with our Archive of supercars and classics, so knew they were in the right place for what was required.

So, like all of our team here, your first thoughts was probably Bond-related. That being said, we are excited to say this vehicle is an official vehicle that was on set, and used in the classic James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me. The owner of the Esprit has a relative who had a substantial role in the production of the film, who then purchased it once filming was completed.

There is a plaque embedded into the dashboard with signatures from cast members, which we are going be preserving as part of our retrim.

To finish off this first blog post of the Lotus Esprit retrim, we would like to confirm that we are indeed creating another parody film trailer once the vehicle is complete, poster and all! Mercedes-Benz Seat Cover Replacement

S-Class Drivers Seat Cover Replacement

Here we have a seat base cover replacement for a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. This is a commonly requested job at d:class but is rarely showcased across our social media channels. As we are known for our work on Mercedes-Benz vehicles, we get a high volume of enquiries about newer vehicles with split and/or cracked seat covers. For some time, the seat covers were not made with the best materials and would show signs of wear very early on. However, it does appear to have been corrected, with more improved off-the-shelf covers now being available. Other manufacturers also offer seat covers, it is just that from our experience and clientele, Mercedes-Benz requests are more common.

This S-Class has leather seats and Mercedes-Benz sells a like-for-like replacement. As you can see, the leather has weakened between the perforations and has left the seat looking like this. The vehicle is 10 years old, so the foam did not require any additional repairs. The seat and cover were removed, the new cover installed, and a little bit of heat added to ensure the cover fitted as best as possible.

For a perfect-fitting seat cover, we recommend a bespoke retrim; however, these parts from the manufacturer do the job of refreshing and repairing a vehicle's interior back to its former glory.

McLaren P1 Seat Retrim

Here we have a set of McLaren P1 seats we have retrimmed. Our customer requested that the standard black Alcantara be replaced with something more vibrant. After some discussion, the decision was made to go with Infanta blue Alcantara with matching thread purchased from our AutoShop store . Our customer also requested that the outers be retrimmed, but in matching black nappa leather to ensure they look brand new.

Ferrari 250 SWB No.6

Ferrari SWB 250 Full interior Retrim No.6

Back with our 6th Ferrari 250 SWB, this one with a lovely blue metallic paint, different from the usual gloss finish.

This vehicle's interior, like all the others before, has had a complete interior fabrication and retrim. The vehicle arrived to us essentially as a bare shell, as seen by the images. Before any trimming work can commence, the first step is always installing sound deadening to the vehicle's floor, doors, roof, and centre tunnel.

Dynamat kindly provided us with the two types of sound deadening required for this project. Firstly, we have the softer and lighter Dynaliner, which is installed on the headlining. The second is Dynamat which goes onto the floor, rear bulkhead, centre tunnel, and doors. These sound-deadening products minimise road noise and vibrations, making your driving experience more comfortable. We highly recommend installing these on your projects if the opportunity presents itself.

Carpet and Leather

The interior for this Ferrari was a contrast of light and dark, with the customer requesting a navy Wilton carpet and Luxan Fawn Vaumol leather. This tan and navy mix is very popular in classic cars, especially older Ferrari's. Vaumol leather is known in our industry as one of, if not the, best leathers for this period of car. It is very plush and stretchy with a minimal grain that delivers a premium classic finish.

Seats

The seats that come with the vehicle arrive to us as bare metal frames. Our talented fabricators create each seat completely customised, no patterns are reused as each build is slightly different as these vehicles are hand-built.

Once our trimmers have created the bespoke foams, it leads to the retrim. Precisely measured centre flutes are created with the previously mentioned fawn Vaumol leather. seat bolsters, top and bottom panels, all of which are finished off with some piping. These seats really do showcase what d:class stands for, hard work and top-quality retrims.

Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Seat Retrim

Our good friends at Guildford Harley / Guildford Custom approached us yet again with a very unique job for us. They are currently building a fully customised Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail, featuring a hand-painted fuel tank and fender.

The team at Guildford Custom gave us free rein to design the bike seat; the only request was that it needed to feature some black Alcantara. We got to planning and sharing ideas for the seat, where the idea of mimicking the hand-painted design was chosen. The design was created and then sent to our CNC Machine where it was stitched onto black Alcantara. Black nappa leather was selected for the centre band, which features the simplified Harley-Davidson logo in a vibrant red thread.

We at d:class hold an annual awards ceremony shortly before Christmas, where team members can cast their votes for each other in several categories. We do this to show recognition of the hard work the team put in all year round. This year's Most Impressive Job award has a rather alternative result, not for who has won it, but rather what. David took a trip earlier this year to a little country called Turkey, and it must have been the lovely weather, because he came back with a rather impressive new hairline. Congratulations David, Job of the year!

Most Detailed Worker is awarded to Laurence for his unmatched level of detail in his work. Laurence trims the majority of our steering wheels, so if you follow our social media accounts, you'll recognise some of his detailed hand stitching. Fantastic work Laurence; thank you!

This year's Most Enjoyable Worker has been awarded to Martyn, for his humour, which doesn't appear to have any downtime. Martyn always manages to keep everyone in good spirits, and always keeps morale at a high. Thank you, Martyn!

He's only gone and bagged himself a third award! Ashish returning with Most Improved Worker of the Year. Since Ashish joined in 2021, he has been awarded Most Improved each year, and as he continues to expand on his trimming portfolio, we look forward to where his talents sore to.

Porsche 911 GT3 Seat Retrim

A vibrant job for these Porsche GT3 seats we had through our doors recently. Our customer contacted us after finding our website online and enquired about having their GT3 comfort seats retrimmed. Blue tartan material was supplied to us, originally destined for making kilts.

Only the seat centres were requested to be retrimmed for this job as the bolsters and headrests were in near-new condition. However, we still gave them a gentle iron, to have them look as good as new for our customer.

Mini Cooper S Partial Retrim

This lairy Mini Cooper S, was booked into d:class for a handful of trimming jobs. The car is heavily modified, both mechanically and visually, including a carbon fibre interior with Recaro bucket seats. Our customer sent us images with questions about if we had anything special which suits their interior.

We are fortunate enough to be able to provide visual examples of projects for customers when required. Our customer loved the idea of carbon fibre leather but just wanted to see what it will look like prior to committing to the job. A couple of photoshops later, the green light was given to proceed.

We retrimmed the dashboard top, dashboard lower, door sills, horn push, and centre armrest with this carbon leather. The A, B, and C pillars were also retrimmed in black Alcantara. At d:class we offer seat belt re-webbing, and our customer requested new belts featuring red accents. The purpose of this was to match the other red accents found in the car, like the red carbon fibre and red bordering on the Recaro sport seats. Lastly, we fitted new supplied carbon fibre rear quarters, as requested by our customer.

What do you think about this insanely modified Cooper S? There is a lot going on, but everything has been completed to an outstanding finish with no expense spared. The car has even received a stage 3 tune, so we are lucky we don't have many neighbours as it sounds ferocious.

Ferrari F355 Berlinetta - Dashtop Retrim

This gorgeous Ferrari F355 Berlinetta recently spent some time with us at d:class for various works. After speaking with our customer to establish exactly what they want to achieve, a decision was made to keep everything original where possible.

The Job

The binnacle and upper dashboard panels were the only items chosen to be retrimmed, as they could not be repaired or salvaged. As you can see from one of the images, the leather chosen was not the best, with plenty of scars visible. The lower dashboard, amongst other small interior pieces was connolised to give a new lease of life to these panels. The door latch and grab handle covers were also retrimmed, and the rest of the door cards were re-foamed with the original leather being reused. Lastly, the centre console was also connolised to match the rest of the refreshed Crema leather found in the interior.

The Ferrari F355 (Type F129) is a sports car manufactured by Italian car manufacturer Ferrari produced from May 1994 until 1999. The car is a heavily revised Ferrari 348 with notable exterior and performance changes. The F355 was succeeded by the all-new Ferrari 360 in 1999.

Design emphasis for the F355 was placed on significantly improved performance, as well as drivability across a wider range of speeds and in different environments, such as low-speed city traffic

Mercedes-Benz SL350 Interior Retrim

This Mercedes-Benz SL350 recently came to d:class for a partial interior retrim. The vehicle has undergone a soft restoration, and our interior work was the final part of this restoration. Before we had the privilege of working on the vehicle, it had just received an exterior respray and a mechanical overhaul.

Our customer requested for both seats to be retrimmed, the door card centres and grab handles, centre console panels, rear interior panels, and lastly a fresh set of seat belts.

For this project, we retrimmed the seats, door cards, and rear panels in Alpaca grey grained leather, supplied by our good friends at @UK Hide. This leather is a period correct Mercedes-Benz leather. A matching vinyl was also selected as some parts of the OEM interior which are vinyl. The Centre console and other areas had a darker shade of grey leather, this is Middle Orion grained grey leather and was also supplied by UK Hide.

Lastly, we were asked to change the seat belts as the originals had begun to discolour. Fresh light grey belts across the newly retrimmed leather seats really add a little something extra to this partial retrim. We have sort out and achieved an OEM like for like retrim on this beautiful SL350 example.

Porsche GT4 RS Seat Bolster Covers

This Porsche GT4 RS was recently with us at d:class for a pair of lower bolster covers to match the OEM seats. The same Porsche leather was used to blend in and not be too noticeable, but still protect the bolsters from wear. These OEM racing seats from Porsche are quite snug, so our customer wanted to keep their brand-new GT4 RS factory fresh.

McLaren 600LT Touring Seat Conversion

An ever-increasing request here at d:class, the touring conversion for the McLaren P1 style seats, found in various current McLaren models.

What is it? - A touring conversion is where we increase room in the seat around the hip area to increase comfort and mobility.

Why? - Plenty of our customers complain of wanting more room and comfort, this is because of the OEM seat shape being more performance-focused, meaning a more snug fit for the drivers and passengers. This is not ideal on longer drives/tours, especially those of a wider frame.

How? - We remove the seat covers, adjust the amount of foam to allow for more room, then adjust the affected panels to ensure a tight, OEM finish. Some customers take this opportunity to retrim the entire seats, like our customer did for this pair of 600LT seats.

Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae Roadster

A very special Lamborghini at d:class this week. A Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae Roadster. 1 of 250 worldwide, and in the very lairy "Verde Scandal" Green.

As car enthusiasts, this brought most of the team away from their work to witness what was making all the noise. They were not disappointed to find this parked outside. A very striking vehicle to say the least.

Now, for why this was with us. With the Aventador Roadsters, the roof comes away manually and is then stored in the "frunk". Unfortunately, a previous owner dropped this roof panel and damaged the centre console underneath. There has been an attempt to repair this previously, but tissue paper, filler and then painted leather are not long term fixes. So, the new customer got in contact with us, and was booked in for an OEM like for like retrim.

As stated above, our customer desired a like-for-like retrim, so that is exactly what was achieved. We've used OEM black nappa leather for a uniform finish with the rest of the interior. Due to the damaged plastic panels needing repairs, the old foams were also removed and replaced.

We stock Serafil Amann automotive threads in our own store, so a thread matching the Verde Scandal green was selected. A twin stitch, which then splits, decorates these panels, creating a very cool and unique finish to the already outrageous interior.

Ferrari 250 SWB No.4

Here is a unique car we are blessed to be able to feature across our social media platforms—a Ferrari 250 SWB, which has been meticulously and beautifully restored.

This vehicle came to us fresh from its respray and exterior fit-up, ready for the interior retrim and fabrication from our very talented team here at d:class. The vehicle arrived to us with a bare metal interior, no door cards, seat frames, no parcel shelf, cantrails, and more. Some of the aluminium interior panels still required holes to be correctly drilled and installed.

In order for the trimmers to get to work, quite a bit of fabrication is required to ensure the entire interior is 100% correctly lined up and installed. We are fortunate to have two very talented individuals under our wing who create incredible work for these vehicles.

For all of our sound deadening, we use Dynamat Europe. We use them for all of the vehicles that come through d:class who require sound deadening. For this vehicle we have used Dynaliner for the headlining and floors. We have then used Dynamat Xtreme for the driver and passenger doors,

Seats are next, as mentioned before, they were just a metal frame upon arrival to d:class. We created bespoke seat panels from aluminium which were then riveted to the frames. After this, foams are next as we prepare to trim the seats.

We used Connolly Navy Blue Vaumol leather, supplied by UK Hide , for the bolsters and binding. This is a crushed grain old-timer leather to match the vehicle genre. The same leather has been used for the lower rear quarters, door cards, centre tunnel, gear gaiter, and roll cage padding. Blue corduroy seat centres which match the blue Wilton carpets, supplied by Boyriven . stitched flutes added to the seat back and base centres, matching the original style that Ferrari once created.

For the carpets in this Ferrari build, we selected Boyriven and their navy Wilton carpet. We have worked with Boyriven multiple times over the years and cannot recommend them enough. If you are a trimmer/trim shop, or looking at carpets to restore your pride and joy, please consider checking out their website; www.boyriven.co.uk The results speak for themselves.

Before any trim is installed to the vehicle headlining and cantrails, we have to ensure all Dynaliner has been fitted to the chassis and panels. This is a sound deadening which we have used on all other Ferrari 250 SWB projects. It is a lightweight deadening that is very simple to install. Celsus UK supply this, alongside Dynamat Xtreme, which is used for the centre tunnel, door cards and both footwells.

Once ready, custom-made metal rods are installed into the roof to enable the headlining to be fitted. The cantrails need to be adjusted to ensure a correct and snug fit, which are then removed, trimmed, and then reinstalled.

McLaren 720s Seat and Wheel Retrim

A pair of McLaren 720s seats that we have completed for one of our customers. We were requested to retrim the "Y" and centres panels for these seats. They were both originally black leather but have now been replaced with Volcano orange and carbon black Alcantara . The purpose of this was to spruce up the interior to make it pop! We also retrimmed the steering wheel, adding a racing band with matching orange stitching

Porsche Macan GTS OEM+ Retrim

Enjoy our video where we show you the process of how we have transformed this new Porsche Macan GTS interior with some Dinamica upgrades. Why is this not an option from the factory?!

So for the job, our customer requested that their brand new Macan GTS have all of the lower plastics found in the vehicle retrimmed, in OEM grey Dinamica. To our understanding, Porsche used to offer this sort of work as an additional option but in leather. However, this optional extra meant the seat controls were black, and not silver which is preferred by our customer. Rather than retrim these interior plastics in leather, Dinamica was selected to match and blend with the Dinamica already found in the car.

Front and rear door sills, lower B-pillars, lower C-pillars, upper C-pillars, D-pillars, rear speaker covers, parcel shelf stays, boot lid panels, lower boot lip panels, front seat plastics, and side dashboard panels. For areas that received twin stitching, OEM-specified red thread has been used, supplied by our very own d:class autoshop .

Along with trimming all of these parts of the vehicle, one thing we did differently was the speaker covers. Normally, we would use our CNC autostitch machine to create perforations into the material. This time we used a laser cutting machine to cut out the exact shape of the OEM design underneath.

The Results

Porsche GT4 Pascha Seat Retrim

A familiar-looking pair of seats that our avid viewers may recognise, but we assure you that these are different.

Back in January of this year, we retrimmed a pair of Porsche Comfort seats for d:class regular, Sam from Seen Through Glass (STG). He purchased a brand new Porsche 911 992 GT3 at the start of the year, and arrange for the vehicle to visit us at d:class for some retrim work. He requested the seat centres and door cards to be retrimmed in the classic Porsche Pascha pattern, a blend of old and new styling. As a result of this, our customer booked in their GT4 for the same d: class treatment.

For this work, we do not require replacing the entire seat material. We do still require removing the seats, the covers, and picking apart all areas that require trimming. Then create those new panels, and stitching them back to the OEM covers to ensure they're tight and in better condition from when they arrived.

In this case, our customer wanted to replace an Alcantara strip situated between the new Pascha centres and headrest/shoulder panel. The reason for this is that the Pascha is the stand-out feature, and works best when with one other material/colour, this being the leather. Alcantara is another material, colour, and is also modern.

The end results speak volumes, and at the time of writing this post, we cannot wait to have the customer back down to d:class for a full video and photo feature. At the time of us working on their vehicle, it was away receiving work from other companies. So once the weather clears up, we will have a video on YouTube, showing the process and results!

McLaren 675LT Seat Retrim

Our customer approached d:class about some work for their fantastic McLaren 675LT. These cars come out of the factory with amazing spec, including the "P1" seats which this car has. These seats are a favourite amongst McLaren owners for their styling, comfort, and support on the road. Our customer messaged us because their seat centres have just the standard grey leather panels. Given that the car is a very vibrant Volcano orange, it makes sense to carry this them on into the interior.

Fast forward a few emails, and we had a plan to create Daytona-style seat centres in matching volcano orange. The leather centres were replaced with Alcantara and so were the belts. The belts themselves have a slightly different hue of orange compared to the Alcantara, this is to match the stitching already found on the seat covers. Black Alcantara was chosen for the belts to match the black leather on the seats and also is the best match for the orange.

Harley-Davidson 'Fat Boy' Seat Retrim

Our motorcycle seat retrims normally involve just a single section, sometimes maybe two, but this time we have three pieces to retrim. The customer requested a simple yet effective pattern to blend into the other pieces of the seat, plenty of red stitching was also asked to match the colour theme of the bike.

A quick discussion took place to decide on a design, and we came up with this pattern, which we are nicknaming 'Horizon'. A bold twin stitch was also placed along the side, leading into the second cushion to help further connect all three pieces.

Harley-Davidson Sportster Seat Retrim

Here we have another Harley-Davidson Sportster seat retirm. This one has been retrimmed primarily in black Alcantara material, with black nappa leather bordering, and finished off with vibrant red stitching. The stitching follows the original shape and design from the factory seat, making this retrim an OEM+ upgrade.

Jaguar Lister XJC

If you know Jaguars, you will know Lister. Back in the 1970's Lister created an extremely limited run of their XJC vehicles. Rumoured that only 4 were made, 3 of which were wide-body variants. This example is the only one that was not specced to be a wide-body, however, at some point during its life it was transformed to match the other 3 vehicles. Which would you prefer?

This vehicle's history with d:class is quite out of the ordinary. 8 years ago we retrimmed the interior while the car was away being repainted, and gaining a few inches of additional width on the front and rear wings. Amazing how well the interior has held up after all these years. The reason it is back with us is for some remedial repairs, most of which are not soft furnishings, but items like side trim and radio issues. Nonetheless, we had to make the most of our short time with the vehicle and treated it to a video and photo shoot, the full d:class treatment.

The interior consists of a set of Recaro seats, featuring "Lister" embossing, red leather piping, and cream leather panels. The same is repeated for the back seats, front door cards, and rear quarter panels. The A, B, and C pillars are trimmed in red Alcantara which is also on the headliner and sunroof panel. Carrying on the red theme, red velour carpets cover the entire floor to give a more period-correct premium environment.

Players Classic 2023

It is that time of the year once again, the time when Players Shows takes over Goodwood Motor Circuit for their Players Classic show. This year saw Players Classic celebrate its 10th anniversary of the show. Kenwood and JVC kindly invited us to be a part of their trade stands again, showcasing our Build Battle Mercedes-Benz 190E and Toyota Celica. This year was the first time the Celica has been to Players Classic, showing off it's audio build, drawing in a crowd.

There was no shortage of outstanding vehicles on both stands, including a Mitsubishi Evo, a Volkswagen Golf R Mk6, a Volkswagen Beetle, an Audi TT, and a Volkswagen Amarok. All of which were heavily modified and represented Kenwood or JVC technologies. But saving the best until last is the JVC Toyota GT86 with a Rocket Bunny V2 kit.

Players Classic is one of the, if not the, most diverse modified car shows of the year. The cars selected come from all walks of life, from Japanese hill climb, to American "Donk", there is a bit of everything. So as a little insight into the show, please enjoy some of our favourites.

Volkswagen Transporter T6 Seats Retrim

Today's upload consists of something different to the norm; this uber cool VW Transporter T6.1 on air ride and alloys belongs to @podiumdetailinguk This is their 2023 promotional vehicle and will be back at d:class soon for more trim work. Podium Detailing are sponsors of @slammeduk #Gravityshow where the Transporter will be pride of place in full Podium livery on their large stand later this year.

New ParagraphThese seats have been retrimmed in black Alcantara, featuring orange Volkswagen GTI centres and orange twin stitching. Lastly, the headrests have been custom embroidered with the @podiumplace logo.

Mercedes-Benz W113 230SL Full Retrim

Introducing the latest Mercedes-Benz W113 to visit d:class automotive. This 230SL has received a full interior retrim, along with some bodywork, which our neighbours, Multi Tech Coachworks took care of. We'll be taking you through the process of the retrim in this blog post, along with a video feature linked above. Enjoy.

Let's start off by rewinding back to when this 230SL first arrived at d:class. The interior of the vehicle was not factory but had indeed been retrimmed previously. As our customer desired their interior to be like a factory, they decided to spend their time and money with us.

After a lengthy discussion planning colour and material options, we concluded that all the carpets, over mats, seats, door cards, deck lid cover, dashboard, horn push, etc.. were to be retrimmed.

It has to get worse before it gets better...

Like all of our full restorations, we need to make the vehicle look a lot worse in order for it to get better. So, starting with stripping the car, we remove all of the seats, door cards, carpets, and other trim pieces. This is where we remove any old glue, or sound deadening, and arrange repairs if required. This is a golden opportunity to install new sound deadening on a restoration. Here at d:class we recommend products from Dynamat Europe as we use their products on all of our restorations, including this one.

It was time for the seats next, new horsehair foams were installed to provide a sturdy yet comfortable foundation. We then created the seat centre flutes with black-grained basket weave old-timer leather. Once filled, the seat covers are built back up and installed over the new foams.

Seats

With the seats being complete and fitted back into the vehicle, you can really appreciate our team's hard work and skillset when comparing what was, to what is new. As mentioned above, these seats are now retrimmed to how Mercedes-Benz would have completed them from the factory, with black-grained old-timer leather and basket weave seat centres. When booking in with us, they had seen one of our previous projects featuring grey carpets with black seats and requested just that, the only change being light grey vinyl for the binding and heel mat.

Our customer can now enjoy their freshly retrimmed 280SL, knowing it has a period-correct interior.

Carpets

We are very proud of every Mercedes-Benz W113 we restore, and this one is no different. The carpets really help showcase a sophisticated and calm character. We have previously featured W113's which have full tan interiors or even blue. however, this model is the first in a long while to feature black seats, door cards and a dashboard. When booking in with us, our customer had seen one of our previous projects featuring grey carpets with black seats and requested just that.

The carpets have been created with grey box weave, partnered with light grey vinyl binding. Lastly, a new rubber heel mat matching the grey vinyl has been installed.

CNC Stitched Bike Seat Retrim

A customer brought their near-new BMW S100R motorbike to us, requesting a seat retrim. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the seat; it's just that our customer wanted something rather special to also match the copper accents already found on the bike.

For this seat, we received a small list of requirements from our customer; make the seat comfier than the OEM spec, use black nappa leather, a copper stitch to match the bike frame, and create a modern CNC stitch pattern seat centre.

Mercedes-Benz SL60 Seats Retrim

A cool backstory to this phenomenal example of an R129. This vehicle was part of probably the most ambiguous car collection in the world, belonging to none other than the Sultan of Brunei Collection. Rumoured to be 1 of 2 SL60s to have been sold from the collection, this immaculate vehicle is really something else. As Mercedes-Benz specialists, we've seen our fair share of R129s and this one really is one of the best examples we have had the pleasure of working on.

So, the reason we had the SL60 at d:class was because both of the front seats required a retrim. The interior is in great condition, with only mild signs of use. However, the front seats were not in the best of condition with shiny leather from use, tears in the drivers bolster, and rips in the perforated leather.

We selected Mercedes-Benz grey grained leather with matching grained perforated leather for the seat centres. This colour is to OEM Mercedes-Benz specification. Ferrari 575 Steering Wheel Retrim

Wheel Wednesday this week with a lovely Ferrari 575 steering wheel retrim. The black leather has been swapped out with a mixture of crema nappa perforated leather and black Alcantara trimmed to OEM spec with black cross hand stitching. The airbag/horn push has also been retrimmed with crema nappa leather with "airbag" debossing.

Ferrari 250 SWB No.2

In this video, we show you the process of how we trimmed the second Ferrari 250 SWB to come through our doors.

These vehicles come to us from our customer with next to no interior, just seat frames, dashboards, and bags of equipment we may need. So as you watch through our video, you get to see the process our incredible team navigates through to create such wonderful end results.

An incredible amount of fabrication work goes into these Ferraris and both of our skilled Fabricators worked on this project for many days. The bare chassis is primed and ready for our team to fabricate door cards, Upper b-pillar panels, kick panels, centre tunnel, parcel shelf, side sills and more...

The seats are always the standout element of these retrims; they are once again completely custom and built by our trimmers, who have decades of experience. We liaised with our customer and collectively decided that Vaumol Luxan Fawn tan leather would be best for this retrim. The leather selected is made in the traditional way, where the leather is top-dyed rather than through-dyed. These seats feature custom panelling, custom foams, top and bottom fluting, finished off with edge piping.

Underneath the seats is the new, and totally bespoke, hunter green carpet from Wilton. The green was selected to match the vehicle's body colour, but a darker shade to emphasize the light tan interior. The carpet has green binding with matching green stitching, this is also found on the floor/over mats.

Different from the first Ferrari 250 SWB we trimmed, this one has a leather quilted rear bulkhead in the same tan leather found in the car, compared to the carpeted bulkhead from before.

The Final Results

BMW Z8 Hardtop Retrim

Here we have a hardtop from a BMW Z8 which came to d:class for a headliner retrim. The original material had become loose and baggy, so was time to replace this to OEM spec. We have used Amber Glow Alcantara, supplied by our good friends at UK Hide which is a match to the original material.

In order to achieve such a finish, we first had to remove the old headlining, the glue, and any other foam backing left behind. The next step was to place down new foam to achieve a smooth and even foundation for the Alcantara.

Once the foam and Alcantara were prepared, it was time to stick down the material with team member Gael, who expertly trimmed this hardtop. There are plenty of nooks and crannies which are incredibly difficult to trim. After some pulling and cutting, the hardtop was complete.

The hardtop was actually fresh from a Bodyshop, so this has transformed the vehicle as it solely relied on the convertible hood .

Lamborghini Urus Wheel Retrim

Here we have a Lamborghini Urus steering wheel which was sent to us for a retrim. The original wheel was half leather and half Alcantara, and as you can see was very worn. Alcantara looks fantastic on steering wheels, but unfortunately, it is not a very hard-wearing material. Unless you frequently, and delicately, clean the Alcantara it will inevitably end up like this. Some professional detailers can bring it back but it is not always guaranteed.

Before and After

We have used black nappa leather for this wheel retrim, replacing the side handles from Alcantara to leather, making it a full leather wheel. The stitching has remained the same to match the rest of the vehicle's OEM orange stitching found elsewhere in the interior. The OEM "hex" pattern hand stitching has also been replicated to a better than factory standard.

Build Battle: Epilogue - We Broke The Celica

In this Epilogue to the d:class Build Battle, we go through all the changes the Celica has received over winter to get it in tip-top condition for the 2023 show season.

We left off the previous Team Old School episode at The Reunion show where Andy showed us around the "completed" Celica. It came down to the wire but as you saw, the team managed to get an almost complete car to the show. Once the Celica returned to d:class HQ, a plan was made to retrim the rear of the car and make some areas more permanent.

So the plan was to retrim all the black carpet in the rear to tan Dinamica, retrim the door cards as these weren't finished in time, install all subwoofers, speakers and amps properly, make a permanent stand for the Nos bottle and get the car detailed ready for show season.

So, now for a little explanation about the title of this video. On the way to The Matt Finish, Andy and Jon struck a deer which was already laying in the road on the M25. It was at night, in the middle lane, and totally unavoidable. We think that we were lucky to have a flexible bumper, as it seems to have prevented the bumper from shattering. most of the damage is stress fractures in the lacquer where the bumper flexed so much. Other than that there is a small chunk of the bumper missing which will need to be filled.

However, deer aside, the car now looks absolutely amazing and we can only thank all of our sponsors for helping us achieve this.

In order of appearance in this episode, we would like to say a huge thank you to Phil from Wire Monkey for installing and wiring in our speakers, subwoofers and amps. One of the amps was removed and replaced with a holder for our Meguiars show care kit bag.

Next, Matt from The Matt Finish took the Celica in for a huge detail, correcting the minor imperfections that naturally come from a busy and dusty body shop. So a massive thank you to Matt for making the Celica look the best it's ever been.

Ferrari F355 Spider Hood Retrim

Here we have a Ferrari 355 Spider, belonging to our good friend and customer, @duke_of_london who requested a new convertible hood and bag for his beloved car. He also opted to change the colour to a more vibrant red, which I'm sure we can all agree transforms his car. The hood bag is totally bespoke, fitted with red nappa leather, and tonal twin stitching to OEM spec.

So starting with the original black hood, there was evidence of wearing in a few locations, so our customer booked in for a new hood and bag. During the booking in process, a discussion was had for an entirely new colour to bring a bit more life to the vehicle. Even though a Ferrari 355 Spider is a very capable car, a rather safe all black interior does not scream Ferrari!

Once the hood arrived, we quickly got to work removing the old and replacing it with the new. The Ferrari f355 Spider hoods are notorious for being hard to replace. Fortunately, we have a highly skilled team, including three team members who can replace hoods.

Once this was complete, Jamie set about creating a totally bespoke hood bag with red nappa leather with tonal twin stitching. The previous hood bag was black and had been cut from bad areas of the hide, with a high amount of scars and imperfections. This is common with large areas of leather from manufacturers. However, we can be fussy here so only the best cuts have been used, creating a very elegant hood bag.

Harley-Davidson Sportster S Seat Retrim

Another bike seat retrim for the team at Guildford Custom for a modified Harley-Davidson Sportster S. The bike has been totally transformed from the factory, complete with a bright yellow respray, Jekyll and Hyde exhaust, and sportier mirrors.

We were tasked with creating a simple seat design with a mix of materials and yellow thread to match the bike's new look. We have used black nappa leather for the seat surround, with a black Alcantara for the centre panel. A simple yellow single stitch around the centre panel perimeter with three centre shapes for a little extra detail.

Mercedes-Benz C63s Steering Wheel Retrim

Here we have a Mercedes-Benz 63S which came to d:class for a steering wheel retrim. Our customer delivered the vehicle and selected the desired materials for the retrim. We keep OEM spec Mercedes-Benz leather in stock so we had a perfect black nappa leather in stock and ready to go. Our customer also requested to replace the side grips from leather to black Alcantara. There are a few shades of black to be selected, so we tested a few samples in the car and came to a decision. Lastly, we keep stock of a huge variety of thread colours, because of this we were able to offer the perfect match to the grey/silver thread already found in the interior of the vehicle.

A fresh wheel retrim goes a long way for a vehicle's interior, and this retrim results in the steering wheel being better than the factory finish.

Porsche Panamera Wheel Retrim

Our customer sent this Porsche Panamera wheel into d:class for a nappa leather wheel retrim. But in addition to having it retrimmed, we were also asked to add more foam to the wheel to make it thicker overall. This request seems to be popping up more frequently lately because it improves both track and daily driving experiences.

STG's Porsche GT3 Retrim

STG's brand-new Porsche GT3 seat and door card retrim.

Sam is a frequent customer of d:class and is also popularly known on YouTube as Seen Through Glass. Sam recently brought his Ferrari 360 in for some minor repairs and came down to d:class HQ. Prior to that, we retrimmed the 360's steering wheel. This time, we developed Sam's brand-new Porsche 911 GT3 as a fresh project. After exchanging messages, we realised Sam desired a vintage Porsche fabric, such as the houndstooth pattern that is once again becoming quite popular among Porsche enthusiasts. Pascha in black and white was ultimately chosen, and it was promptly delivered in time for the GT3's arrival.

Pasha Pattern

In the late 70s, Porsche first introduced the world to the psychedelic pattern known as Pasha with the 928. Up until 1984, Pasha was also available in the 924 and 911 models.

The first stage was removing the seats and door cards, which might seem unusual on a brand-new car, but fear not—at d:class, we are well experienced at this. We have worked on vehicles that have travelled through Europe and stopped at some of the best automotive companies before being handed over to their owners in places like Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Unfortunately, because of the Pasha's design, it becomes incredibly inefficient because the pattern only appears about four times over its breadth. To ensure that all of the panels matched, we had to use the pasha's thinner sections as a foundation for the seats and door cards. In the near future, hopefully, we can make something from the waste.

After the panels had been cut out, it was time to attach them to the original leather Porsche seat covers after applying some foam backing.

The seats and door cards were carefully reinstalled after every piece had been retrimmed. When everything was finished, the car underwent quality assurance and was then given a video and photo shoot for our social media platforms. Mercedes-Benz R107 Seat Retrim

Out With The Old, Retrimmed In The New

Another devoted d:class customer, this Mercedes-Benz was scheduled for both front seats to be retrimmed because they had previously been retrimmed improperly. The material is inaccurate to OEM spec, the piping is too big, the shoulder stitching is incorrect, and the flutes are not all the same size or spaced evenly. The Vinyl is not that of Mercedes-Benz, so this shows that the seats have previously been retrimmed. The customer decided to treat their pride and joy with a Mercedes-Benz OEM leather upgrade.

Following the customer's selection of the preferred material, we assign our extremely skilled staff the tasks of disassembling the seats, creating new patterns from scratch, sewing them all together, adding new foams to the seat centre flutes, fitting the covers, and meticulously reinstalling the seats into the vehicle.

This Mercedes-Benz R107 was originally from the USA, but has been brought over to the UK, had the headlights replaced, and recently received a fresh respray.

For the seats, we have used classic Mercedes-Benz Brasil leather with perforated centres. The customer is over the moon with the results, and upon collection has decided they want to book in with us again to get the carpets replaced as these have faded over time and appear almost green. We look forward to having this delightful R107 back with us in the near future.

Harley-Davidson Seat Retrim

Bike Seat Retrim

Our good friends at Guildford Harley-Davidson contacted d:class once again for another custom bike seat retrim. At the time of writing this, we have completed another cover and are creating one more, but sadly we cannot show you until we get the green light to do so.

For this seat, we were tasked with creating a simple yet stylish design with a mixture of materials. The use of black nappa leather and black Alcantara was specified by the customer. To connect the seat and bike together, we chose a thread that was as similar as possible to the green vinyl stickers and framework of the bicycle.

The first step is to plan the design of the cover by mocking up potential stitch lines on the original cover. Next is to draw out the design onto the material and cut out. Once all patterned pieces are stitched together, it is just a matter of fitting the cover over the foam and installing it.

Mercedes-Benz R107 Interior Retrim (Revisited)

Another previous d:class project to come back to through our gates is this outstanding example of a Mercedes-Benz R107. This vehicle is about as concourse as it gets, winning multiple awards over the years. Our customer lives quite far away and arranged to pop by, so we gave the vehicle a mini photoshoot. d:class had the pleasure of fitting a new hood to this R107 6 years ago and as you can see, it still looks brand new. Our customer takes the utmost care of his cars, and this is a testament to that. The interior is entirely original, and as Mercedes-Benz specialists, we were fascinated by it.

Morris Oxford Interior Retrim (Revisited)

A Blast From The Past

Back in 2020, we completed this Morris Minor retrim for one of our customers. It has recently been back on-site with our neighbours at Multi-Tech Coachworks for some bodywork. We took the opportunity to photograph the vehicle as it has been two years since we have seen the car. As you can see the interior remains as fresh as it did when it left our premises two years ago.

This Morris is by no means your average off-the-shelf vehicle, with a modified chassis, fresh repaint, modified engine, and now with a totally custom interior. We adore it.

Starting off with the seats, for our keen-eyed readers you may recognise these from another vehicle. They are in fact from a Jaguar X-Type, but customised to fit into this vehicle. The rear bench is the original but has received customised foams in order to match the style and shape of the Jaguar seats. Magnolia grained leather has been used with green piping around the edges to withstand the classic look of the car.

The door cards were also styled to match with the seats, with matching leather, pleated centres, and green piping, this was achieved to great effect. Grab handles, window winders and side mirror adjustment levers were also refurbished and polished up nicely.

The headlining is trimmed in beige Alcantara which greatly modernises the interior. We do admire when customers opt for a mix of modern and classic trimming styles. When done correctly this really does make a difference, especially in retro mods with the likes of Singer and Gunther Werks.

For the carpets, we used square weave carpet with green leather binding. The same leather for the piping has been used here with the magnolia being used for the over mats.

Ford Mustang Mach 1 Interior Retrim

Ford Mustang Mach 1 1969 survivor for you all today with a full interior retrim. This vehicle came to d:class with the interior in pieces but has now left looking entirely different. Black nappa leather seats with a mustang embroidery and Mach 1 red leather stripe. Brand new black twinloop carpet with black vinyl binding. The dashboard has been retrimmed with the same black nappa leather with twin black stitching. This was the same for the rear quarters and doorcards. The plastic woods have been replaced with a modern solution, vinyl wood style wrapping

Porsche 993 RS Clubsport Evocation Retrim

We present to you this freshly retrimmed Porsche 993 RS Clubsport Evocation. The customer was recommended to contact us regarding some work he wished to be carried out. They were invited down to our HQ, materials selected, and the retrim was booked in. The vehicle was in quite a good condition but just lacked that extra bit of class on the interior. Lot's of discoloured carpets and flocked interior pieces.

The goal was to accomplish a 911 Carrera RS look interior but with a more OEM+ luxury finish. One of the most notable changes was the Recaro Pole Positions colour change. These were painted by our neighbours at Multi-Tech Coachworks in Riviera blue. For the seats themselves, they have been retrimmed in black nappa leather with black nappa perforated centres. Both the fronts and rear of the seats were debossed with the Recaro logo .

The old carpets were removed, along with a tonne of old glue, and replaced with OEM black silver knit carpet with black vinyl binding. The rear parcel shelf was carpeted with new speakers installed and custom "Carrera RS" embroidery in matching blue thread to the vehicle. The headlining was retrimmed in smooth-grained vinyl. The dashboard, door cards, centre console, A & B Pillars and handbrake were all trimmed in matching black nappa leather. Last but not least was the "frunk", the car came to us with no means of storing anything up front, so we fabricated a shelf and trimmed it in the same carpet found inside the car.

Ferrari 458 Spider Retrim

Today we have a Ferrari 458 Spider owned by @rw._.87 which received a new upper and lower dashboard retrim. We replaced the black leather dashboard top with black Alcantara with red stitching. The lower dash was retrimmed in Ferrari Crema nappa leather and red stitching to match the rest of the interior of the car. A steering wheel retrim to OEM spec with black nappa and debossed perforated leather finished the job off nicely.

Ferrari F355 Full Retrim

We are excited to showcase another project which has been completed at d:class automotive recently. This Ferrari 355 had a sympathetic retrim, by this we mean not everything was retrimmed in brand new OEM leather. Our customer wanted to keep as much of the interior as original as possible so that is what we accomplished.

But before we move on, here are some images of the interior's condition before we got started.

Before images

The Seats are always the most important part of any retrim like this, so with our team of expert trimmers, we got to work recreating these seats from scratch.

Ferrari Beige Nappa leather was selected for the seats to perfectly match the OEM leather from UK Hide . We also matched the thread used to this leather from our own collection of threads from d:class autoshop.

Other areas of the car received new foam backing as they had worn away leaving the leather looking baggy over time. The dashboard and door cards are prime examples of this. But fortunately, all is well now as we carefully removed the leather without damaging it, took the remains of the foam off and replaced to OEM specification.

Keeping with the interior, the handbrake cover and tray holder have been retrimmed as they were damaged. The dashboard airbag panel had become baggy so this was also retrimmed with an airbag deboss logo. Another item is the dashboard binnacle which had some wear markings near the stitching.

Our customer also requested for a new hood, there wasn't anything specifically wrong with the black hood, but a blue one to match the body colour was preferred. This is the same story for the seat belts as they have been re-webbed in navy blue.

Porsche 911 GT3 Steering Wheel Retrim

Wheel Wednesday today with this beautifully trimmed Porsche 911 GT3 steering wheel. Our customer requested that their steering wheel be retrimmed in graphite grey Alcantara with OEM yellow stitching. The graphite grey Alcantara was selected to match the OEM Alcantara found elsewhere in the interior, such as the headlining. The racing band has also been removed for a simplified design. The interiors on these Porsches are phenomenal from the factory, especially the seats featuring houndstooth seat centres.

This rather boisterous looking Lamborghini Urus recently arrived at d:class to have a steering wheel retrim and seat centre retrim for additional embroidery. The vehicle is nearly new so this wasn't a case of repairing anything, but more of making adjustments for the customer's liking.

Starting with the steering wheel, we were requested to make the wheel thicker and to apply black & white contrast stitching. As we made the wheel thicker, the only way to do this was to make a new wheel pattern from scratch. For this, we used OEM spec Lamborghini white and black nappa leather.

The seats are next, and again as requested by our customer we were tasked with adding "Urus" logo embroidery to the seat centres. This is not a huge job but nonetheless, the seats have to be removed, seat covers removed and then those panels affected are cut away from the cover. The perforated centre panel has now been replaced with a white nappa leather panel, this enables us to embroider onto the material. The same process is repeated for all 4 seats which require embroidery.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS is fast becoming a future classic, even compared to modern Mercedes-Benz styling, this car still holds its own and looks incredible. The vehicle has come to d:class for a seat retrim as the Porcelain leather seats have become worn and had previously been connolised. Per the customer's request, we retrimmed the seat centres in black Alcantara and kept the rest OEM but in fresh leather.

Black contrast twin and single stitching flow through these seats, matching the dashboard, centre console and door cards found throughout the car. We also retrimmed the centre armrest, a commonly used area that had also become worn.

Build Battle Episode 19 Interior Retrim Part 2

The 190E Interior Is Complete!

In this penultimate Team New Class episode of the d:class Build Battle, The team finish the interior. Finishing off from last time, we see the roll cage, dashboard and seats get finished. We also show you how the door cards were fabricated and trimmed with special guest Keith, from Kenwood UK who goes through Team New Class's fancy new head unit.

Seats: The seats are from a Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, they were totally standard with black leather upper and lower bolsters, perforated black leather seat centres with additional red leather accents. This has all now changed with a simplified seat layout and of course colour and material changes. The bolsters have now been retrimmed in blue nappa leather, the seat centres are now Mercedes-Benz blue Karo sports check. for the headrests, Team Old school had them perforated with "05", the same number found on the livery. This is for the year 2005 when d:class was first established.

Harley Davidson Road King Bike Seat Retrim

Today we have a Harley Davidson Road King seat that we recently retrimmed for @guildfordcustom �� The seat features some incredible bespoke CNC work from @dclassautostitch with a custom stitch design for the centre panels. These panels are black Alcantara with silver stitching. The rest of the seat features black nappa leather with an olive-coloured twin decorative stitch. The customer requested the design to match their tattoo and have the fuel tank painted to match. I think you’ll agree this is taking bike seats to a whole new level.

McLaren P1 HDK Wheel Retrim

A familiar face returned to d:class recently, this masterpiece of the automotive engineering and design, the McLaren P1 HDK. For those who attended The Goodwood FOS last year, you may have seen this car being driven up the hill climb by the team at Lanzante Limited.

The interior was trimmed by our dedicated and equally talented team last year. The bespoke cream leather seats with tan Alcantara belts, matching the belts was the Alcantara dashboard pieces. Not forgetting the door cards, these were also trimmed in the cream leather and tan Alcantara. Lastly, the steering wheel is trimmed in black nappa leather with matching black stitching to blend nicely into the carbon wheel and dashboard. As the McLaren P1 naturally has a carbon fibre chassis, the trimmed interior is accompanied with plenty of exposed carbon fibre throughout such as centre console doors.

Now for the reason as to why the McLaren P1 HDK came to d:class HQ. Unfortunately on the cars promotional endeavours over the past few months, some areas of the car had become dirty or damaged. We were tasked to professionally clean the seats, door cards and carpets. Sadly the steering wheel had a scratch so this required retrimming to the exact same specification.

Lamborghini Miura Full Retrim

This Lamborghini Miura was with d:class some time ago as part of a full nut and bolt restoration. We stripped the entire car of any interior pieces we needed to retrim. Once the carpet had been made it was able to be released to the body shop where it has received an absolutely amazing respray in this lovely orange.

Once the car was ready to come back we were able to fit up all the freshly retrimmed interior pieces into the vehicle. This included both front seats, dashboard, centre console, door cards, the headliner and much much more.

Batman: For Leather

We remade Batman for £300

Not every day, do you get to work on a road legal Batmobile, so we had to have a little bit of fun, with Batman's consent of course. Our Media Manager Harry had the task of planning, writing, filming and editing the parody trailer around our busy work schedule. It took two late nights to capture all the footage in people's spare time. We will be doing a more in-depth blog post and video of the interior retrim we did on The Batmobile soon, so be sure you are following us on Instagram and YouTube.

Of course we had to make a matching movie poster to go with our trailer. If there are any Hollywood scouts out there, we are open to negotiations.

A very unique Porsche GT2 was with us at d:class automotive, 1 of 1 in this gorgeous metallic turquoise colour, originally sold to a customer in Hong Kong but now receiving a "partial retrim" before heading off to it's new owner somewhere else in the world. we use the term partial lightly as we still retrimmed plenty of areas of the car.

-Dashboard top and binnacle

Customised Mercedes-Benz W108 Interior Retrim

Mercedes-Benz W108 Retrim:

The story starts with Dougie, who owns the Mercedes-Benz, when he visited d:class after hearing good reviews of our work. All of our staff were fascinated by his W108 which had a brand new air ride suspension system and was also fresh from paint. To our delight, Dougie booked in with us and we awaited his car's return so we could get stuck in.

Working from the ground up, we started the retrim by applying a large amount of sound deadening to the chassis floor pan. We use Dynamat Europe for all of our big projects, including both of the Build Battle cars.

For the carpet, we have used a grey box weave carpet with red leather binding to match the rest of the interior. All of which are custom-made and glued down on top of the Dynamat panels.

One of the main targets for this build was to recreate an OEM front bench seat. This was an option from the factory but given the age of these cars, it would be incredibly hard to source one. As we have such skilled fabricators in the d: class team, we set about recreating our own with tilt and slide features.

Owner Dougie sat down with David and had a lengthy discussion about what leather to pick for the vehicle. Oxblood red distressed leather was selected and ordered. For the seat centres, we had the leather debossed with period-correct basket weave patterning. Creating these seats from absolutely nothing is nothing short of a masterpiece. They are the definition of tailor-made upholstery.

The dashboard is next, another stand-out key feature of this restoration. We were tasked with finding a home for a large entertainment system screen. Dougie wished it to be in the car so he would have his modern comforts like Bluetooth audio and satellite navigation. He also requested the screen to be tucked away when desired, this involved us designing and fabricating a type of hinge to be able to travel without contacting the dashboard. It also had to be able to uphold the weight of the device at all times.

Last but not least is the bespoke door cards featured in this W108. The original door card woods were totally warped and damaged, this is totally normal for Mercedes of this era and age. We keep an archive of original door card templates from all types of Mercedes-Benz.

Once the new door card woods had been created, it was onto trimming these with the same red distressed leather. A big thank you to UK Hide for supplying us with this gorgeous leather. We like to work with the best companies, so we cannot recommend them enough.

Episode 18 The Celica's New Interior

In episode 12 of the d:class Build Battle, David leads Team Old School team members through the Celica retrim, and Martyn starts fabricating the boot build which will display the Kenwood audio and Nos purge bottle. Other features include the chrome K-brace and display tools.

This was all preparation for The Reunion Show, at the British Motor Museum, where we were a main sponsor. Both cars were featured on our trade stand alongside our old trusty stead, the d:class van. We launched the voting for the Build Battle at this show, and it was safe to say we had very successful launch with hundreds of votes throughout the two-day show.

With the help of a few photoshopped images and an iPad, the team were able to come up with a plan of action on how the interior would look for the Celica. Once a decision was made, materials were ordered and parts had pattern work completed, ready for trimming.

Tan Dinamica was chosen for the interior, this was supplied by our good friends at UK Hide, who sell the full Dinamica range. Our McLaren 570s seats, A, B, and C pillars, headlining, door cards and dashboard are all trimmed in this. It looks good, feels good and smells amazing in the car.

Back when we visited UK Hide in a previous episode, Rob introduced us to a carbon fibre weave leather. This idea was brought forward to the team, and as a result, the steering wheel, gear knob, and door card handles have been trimmed in this.

Last but not least, the centres of the McLaren seats have been through our CNC stitching machine. This Y-pattern design was featured on our d:class McLaren 600LT but can now be found in the Celica. We have chosen a striking blue thread to match the body colour of the car. We knew we needed to have an interior that was classy, stand-out, vibrant, and had areas never seen before. As the car has a very rare body kit, a body colour not from Toyota, it was only right the interior was equally ridiculous. McLaren seats with a fancy stitch pattern ticks this box.

Episode 17: The Celica Is Back From Paint

In this episode, the Celica's respray is completed and is also reassembled. During this time we had the pleasure of Pro Coatings visiting the car to carbon wrap the roof, centre console and the McLaren 570s seat backs. We visit Rich's workshop where he shows us how he goes about wrapping some of these parts, accompanied by Barketing Manager, Ted.

Before the interior panels were trimmed and reinstalled, this was the perfect time to apply Dynamat Xtreme sound deadening. These were really easy to install, they come super sticky and only require a small roller to apply to the car. Dynamat Europe kindly sponsored the Celica and 190e with enough sheets to do both cars. Sound Deadening clears the cabin of any road noise or vibrations, so this was the perfect time to install.

We want to take this chance to thank Luke once more for going above and beyond to support Team Old School in our Build Battle. We mentioned Luke in the previous blog post about the Celica, but we really are grateful.

New AMG dashboard and seats are retrofitted to the car with some of the OEM interior features brought over. New black carpet is laid with matching black Dinamica headlining. The roll cage is also being trimmed to match the blue leather found on the seats, dashboard and door cards.

McLaren 570s Wheel Retrim

A very vibrant McLaren 570s came to d:class recently for a steering wheel retrim. Our customer saw previous work we had accomplished for a variety of McLarens and got in touch. They requested for all the black leather to be retrimmed in carbon black Alcantara. Also, a racing band was added to the wheel's top in the McLaren orange Nappa leather. Lastly, the side grips used to be finished by tucking in the leather edges. This has now changed and the orange stitching continues around the entire steering wheel.

Paint Reveal Is Here!

The long awaited paint reveal for Team Old School's Celica is here!

After all the drama from 2021, it is a big relief to finally say that the Celica is painted. At the time of writing this, the car is being polished and fitted up in Luke's Bodyshop. Before we get into the details of the respray, we would like to take this opportunity to once again say thank you to Luke. Without him then this Build Battle had a high chance of not proceeding due to other bodyshop's long wait times.

Following on from the last paint update, Andy and Luke carried on prepping the car in preparation for the respray. Repeatedly laying down primer and sanding it back to ensure a perfectly flat and smooth surface. It's all in the prep as they say!

Carbon Bonnet!

As you can see we have a very happy Andy, Team Old School has acquired a full carbon bonnet which was part of the original APR Performance kit. As seen in the episode it has definitely seen better days due to the sunburnt surface and the peeling lacquer. However, it does appear to be salvageable so off with the old lacquer and on with the new.

Another shout out goes to BSB Group and Novol for supplying the Celica with its paint. We had the privilege of going behind the scenes and seeing how the team at BSB mix the paints for their customers. With their very clever technology, the tinters that are added to the mix are done by exact weight ensuring a perfect result every time.

We highly recommend BSB Group for any paint requirements you have. They sell any materials or tools required for body repair work, so whether you are involved in a DIY job or perhaps work in a Bodyshop, definitely give them a call. We were recommended by multiple painters to use Novol for their consistent premium quality found across all of their ranges.

Once the paint was collected from BSB, it was straight back to Luke's Bodyshop to start painting. Multiple layers of paint were laid down to ensure an intense finish to the colour. As this colour is metallic, all of those little particles of "flake" will really pop in the sunshine. The colour Team Old School selected is actually a BMW colour, Atlantis blue to be exact. Other colours were considered such as repainting it the same orange and also the Renault Sport yellow.

The next time you will see the Celica will be when the car being assembled, polished and brought back to d:class. We are hoping the next step is constructing the boot build so the audio equipment supplied by JVC have a home.

Range Rover Sport SVR Wheel Retrim

This Range Rover Sport SVR came to d:class HQ for a steering wheel retrim with a short list of changes. The customer requested for the stitch design to be changed from the original to a link stitch. They also have asked if we can change the stitch colour from black to a light grey, matching other grey accents found in the interior of the vehicle. Lastly, the side grips of the wheel used to have black perforated leather, this was also requested to be changed to a plain black nappa leather, identical to the rest of the wheel.

d:class Build Battle - Episode 14 - Team Old School

Celica Wheels and Tyres Revealed!

In this episode of the d:class Build Battle, we get to see the Celica wheels return from Lepsons. We also take a trip to Bower Lane Tyres where Kumho Tyres UK have sponsored the Celica with a set of tyres.

For those unfamiliar with Lepsons, and the standard of their work, they are the biggest wheel refurbishment company in the south of England, if not the whole of the country. Refurbishing 24,000 wheels a year, the scale of their operation is admirable and shocked Old School team captain Andy.

The wheels may look familiar and that is because they are the wheels that came with the Celica when purchased for the Build Battle in 2021. In fact, these wheels actually come as part of the APR Performance body kit way back when it was still possible to still buy the kit from Japan. They are a very rare set of Racing Hart CR's with a whopping 19 inch wheel size and a width of 10 inches on the rears and 8.5 inches on the fronts.

We were fortunate enough to be given a tour of the Lepsons facility by Jay, the general manager. Jay went through the process from start to finish starting with the handover. We were shown their wheel wall which displays a huge selection and variety of wheels that have been painted and finished in different styles. This is where customers can pick their colour and finish.

Next up is removing the old tyres, and getting the wheels into the chemical tanks. These tanks only target paints and powder coats, meaning the metal does not get damaged.

The wheels are then straightened and welded, if required, followed by being sandblasted ready for the next step.

Now for the more exciting stages of the process. Primers, paints and lacquers.

Wheels are first heated in one of many huge ovens on the conveyor belt system. They are then put in powder coat primer, baked once again and checked for any imperfections.

They are then wet painted in the desired colour, swiftly followed on with powder coat lacquer, providing that OEM finish. They are then baked for a final time and collected by a member of the team to inspect the final results.

Now for the Racing Hart alloys for the Celica. Believe it or not, these wheels are actually a single piece wheel although you wouldn't think so. As stated by Jay in this episode, the lips to these wheels were too far gone and a solution was planned and seen through. The wheel 'centres' are painted metallic grey to give a more modern and timeless look. At the time of writing this, the car has been painted and it is safe to say the new colour goes very well with the Celica's new look.

Once the wheels had been collected, we took a trip down to Bower Lane Tyres where Craig, the owner, had managed to secure Team Old School a sponsored set of tyres from none other than Kumho Tyres UK.

So a massive thank you goes to both companies for helping the team get tyres fitted to the freshly refurbished alloy wheels.

The tyres we have been supplied with are from the Kumho Tyre ultra high performance range, ECSTA PS91 to be specific. The front wheels differ in size from the huge rears. Because of the width difference, the front tyres are a 235/35/19 and the rears are a whopping 265/30/19. As you can see from the images above, there's quite the contrast.

The 190 Gets A Custom Exhaust!

Firstly, a huge thank you to the team at Style Dynamics for having us down for the day to get the custom exhaust made. We learnt a lot about the process of creating something totally bespoke for our car. They assisted team leader Max in choosing the right tips for the exhaust and how loud to make it. We did not want anything too ridiculous as the engine is still only a 1.8 litre.

Once the decision of tip and sound was made, the guys went about cutting and bending the correct size pieces of stainless steel. They then mocked up how the exhaust would run underneath the vehicle, avoiding things like the differential and using the OEM exhaust hanger locations. Next up was welding the entire system together with the beautiful welding you see in the images below. After this, the system was then polished to give it that real stand-out shine. Last but not least, the system was then fitted to the car and a sound check was demonstrated.

Happy with the results, we set off back to d:class HQ but not without stopping to grab some fly-by shots showing off the 190's new sound. The team were over the moon with the results and because we are all children at heart, they all waited their turn to annoy the neighbours by revving the car.

Mercedes-Benz W108 280SEL Full Retrim

This Mercedes-Benz W109 280SEL is quite a unique vehicle to come through our doors. To the average joe, this W109 may look factory (aside from the fresh interior retrim). Our customer requested a few things to be done differently and also accommodate some creature comforts.

Starting with the carpets, usually, a Mercedes of this era would have twin loop carpets, however, our customer has chosen a more modern black velour carpet with black vinyl binding. Velour carpets such as these are found in modern Mercedes such as R129 and W124 models from the late 80s and early 90s.

The seats are next, and like all of our classic Mercedes-Benz retrims, these are bespoke and made by our extremely talented trimmers.

The original seats were in terrible condition, which is expected for cars of this age. However, we got to work picking these apart and starting from new. Muirhead black leather and black basket weave leather were selected for the front and rear seats. The same leather can be found elsewhere in the car: on the dashboard, the lower dash and all four door cards.

For the centre console, we have created something rather unique. The customer supplied us with a fabricated centre console now featuring 2 cup holders and window switch blanks. More adjustments were made here at d:class from our fabrication team and then was retrimmed in leather.

The under dash saw more changes, where two air vents have been installed and a magnetic wireless charger. The under-dash console again came to us prefabricated but was not ready to be trimmed and fitted. More work was carried out on it to ensure the wireless charger fitted correctly.

Lastly, a Bluetooth device has been installed near the A-pillar, enabling phone calls and voice controls for mobile devices whilst on the move.

These few modern creature comforts mean our customer can enjoy their pride and joy without having to spoil the look with a mobile phone and charger dangling from the windscreen.

Mercedes-Benz W113 280SL Pagoda Carpet Retrim

A common sight to see at d:class HQ currently is the number of Pagodas we have on-site. In spring we normally get an influx of vehicles such as the R129, R107 and W113 as we head into summer. Never before have we had seven of the same vehicle on sight, all of which are in various stages of restorations. Keep an eye out on our social media platforms and of course here on our blog for even more content and information.

This lovely example of a W113 came to d:class for a carpet retrim as the original carpet had become worn and deteriorated. We have replaced the original carpet with a grey twin loop and black vinyl binding to fit in with the rest of the interior. Additionally, the back of the seats have been trimmed also as these are carpeted from the factory. Last but not least, the interior metal trim has been polished up as these had begun pitting from their age. The rest of the interior is surprisingly in very good condition and did not require any further work.

Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Wheel Retrim

Here is a prime example of the dos and don'ts of retrimming/repairing a steering wheel. Here at d:class we always advise our customers to steer away from connolising leather, pun intended. We only like to produce work that will last, so temporary solutions like these are no longer available at d:class. Now, this steering wheel was a first for us, a previous owner had their steering connolised on top of worn Alcantara. This is just not the way to do things correctly on so many levels.

Not only was the painted Alcantara a terrible decision, but the stitching was sub-par even for a manufacturer finish. So once the wheel was carefully removed, Laurence got to work dissecting the steering wheel, ready to make the new wheel cover from scratch.

Black nappa leather with black Alcantara side panels complete this wheel cover. We also re-made the racing band with white nappa leather. All of this was finished off with a silver thread to match the OEM stitching found elsewhere in the interior of the vehicle.

The difference a steering wheel retrim makes is huge, especially for vehicles with suede or Alcantara wheels. As the steering wheel is the most used part of an interior, they are faster wearing. Grease and dirt are the main culprits for the wear and unless you wear specific gloves, you can see wear in a matter of months if not well maintained correctly.

Perhaps the previous owner of this vehicle did not want to spend the money retrimming the wheel so opted for a cheaper option. Either way, connolising a steering wheel is never going to last nor look desirable.

Here we have a fully custom made tonneau cover, a popular trimming request for these AC Cobra's which protects your interior from getting wet if you find yourself caught out in the rain.

Our extremely talented team made this cover entirely in-house. In the video above you will see Richard leading this project. For this cover, we have used everflex which is a material capable of dealing with the elements, protecting your interior whilst maintaining a period finish.

Lifting the dot clips enables a tight and secure finish. We also added a zip down the middle which doubles as a passenger-side cover just in case you need to drive in rainy conditions.

A visit from a customer's vehicle we trimmed 5 years ago!

It's not too often we see the interiors of vehicles again once they leave d:class HQ, so this was a real treat for the team. Months of hard work goes into these full retrim/restorations like these, so we are glad to see the work being appreciated and looked after so well. At the time of writing this, April 2022, it has been five years since we completed this retrim.

It's back! The Celica is almost ready for primer and paint. The guys have been working late nights and weekends to get the Celica to this stage. Later in this post we will go into more detail about the reasons why this has taken so long, until then enjoy the episode and some exclusive photos from our recent time at the bodyshop.

Other than the rear arches, the entire car has seen some love and much needed attention and we will go through some of the key areas now

We will start with the front bumper. Going by the images and video, you would think the car had covered hundreds of thousands of miles by the amount of stone chips. But in fact the car had only covered a couple thousand miles since the kit was installed, all the damage you see is from water getting in and lifting the lacquer and paint.

The side skirts were quite the surprise as we was not expecting to carry out the amount of repairs we did. There was one area that obviously needed addressing but sadly so much more attention was required. After many hours correcting and essentially refitting both side skirts, Luke managed to get them fitted properly and looking perfect.

The interior had already been stripped so this gave us the perfect opportunity to lay down some Dynamat Xtreme. This material stops any unwanted road noise entering the interior of the car, such as stones pinging off the inner arches, tyre noise and any squeaks that Japanese cars of this era are known for.

Mercedes-Benz W115 Interior Retrim

Today we present to you this Mercedes-Benz W115 which just received a retrim from us here at d:class. This vehicle came to us requiring an entire new carpet, front and rear seats that were heavily worn and baggy door cards. Retrimmed in classic Mercedes natural tan leather, with period correct sternchen perforation seat centres. The door cards also have some perforation so this material can be found here too. The carpets look fantastic with the new brown twinloop carpet with matching brown binding. Lastly the B-pillars are the same as the tan leather so these have also both been retrimmed.

Rolls-Royce Wraith Retrim

This Rolls-Royce Wraith belongs to a loyal customer of d:class. We have seen many of their cars through our doors, including a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon we recently retrimmed the seats for seen here.

The vehicle came to us with its original cobalt blue interior from Rolls-Royce, however our customer wanted something more subtle and to their taste. It was then decided we would retrim all of the blue leather to black, including the perforated seat centres.

The first step was to remove the interior parts which were going to be retrimmed. These were both the drivers and front passenger seat, the rear bench and centre piece, the front and rear door cards which included the armrests on both of these.

The next step is to pick apart all of these panels and make patterns of these for the new black nappa and perforated leather.

Once all of the panels had been cut out, it is then a matter of piecing all of these together and adding any additional decretive top stitching. We had the perforated panels matched to the OEM black pieces which were being reused, so we had to ensure they were to the exact OEM specification.

Before & After

Some people may not like retrimming the interior to a more subtle colour, but it is all perspective. Some people may like the very vibrant and lairy colours available from Rolls-Royce, and others may prefer the more tame and premium themed all black interior. No matter what our customers choose we are committed to delivering the best result possible with our extremely talented automotive interior experts. We like the black on black look and it shows up very well on video too!

FINISHED! TGE TV's Porsche 912 Retrim

Final Episode Here!

It feels like forever ago we first showcased Tom's Porsche 912 to you all, but fear not as we finally have the results for you. Luckily we are not limited to ten images here on our blog, so we can show you tonnes of images and bore you with even more information about the retrim.

Where we left off from episode 2...

We finished off episode 2 with Tom visiting d:class HQ to see the progression on his car. This left us with two huge areas of the interior left to trim, the two front seats and dashboard.

We will start with the front seats, as let's be honest they are the biggest and best part of this retrim that you all want to see.

We have Formation Industries to thank for designing and creating these seat centres. Chris from Formation Industries worked with us to provide the best results possible for the 912. He sampled many designs and sizes before reaching the result we have now, and they are truly astonishing. We searched far and wide and could not find anyone else who has done this to a vehicles interior, so definitely a unique and first for automotive interiors.

The upper bolsters, lower and seat backs have been retrimmed in a black distressed leather. David, the boss, and Tom discussed in episode one the perks of having a more vintage style leather as apposed to perfect nappa leather. This being that we feel a more stylised and 'worn' interior is more period correct, and of course making it totally unique to anything else out there. The seats also have green leather piping, which is also distressed, to fit in with the aesthetic of this retrim. The same green leather can be found on the binding for the carpets and even the gear gator.

Next up, the dashboard...

We wanted to showcase our skills and resources where possible, so for the dashboard we set about recreating the perforated shape found on the old dashboard. For this recreation we used our CNC Stitching and Perforation machine. Firstly, we had to take measurements of the original shape, then recreate this on a design programme to scale. Next, we tested a variety of perforation hole sizes until we found one that suited best. As a little sprinkle of additional detail, we left out punching some of the holes to show '912' into the dashboard. Lastly, we found a new home for the "Porsche Club Italia" emblem in the passenger corner. We have sunken this into dashboard to look more purposeful.

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster Seats Retrim

A new customer to d:class, saw previous posts of Lamborghini's we have worked on and reached out for some trimming needs for their own Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster.

The seats got damaged from what we believe to be water, and because of this the customer then had the seats connolised. Not happy with the result of this, he then reached out d:class for a retrim of the driver and passenger seat along with the door cards.

We have used Thruxton black nappa leather for this retrim with contrasting white nappa leather centres. We also used white twin and top stitching on the black leather as apposed to the OEM black stitching, making the stitching more of a stand out feature.

The headrests have fresh Lamborghini logos embroidered into them with black thread, this is to match the freshly trimmed bolsters and to also give a contrast with the white leather headrests and seat centres.

Sadly we did not have the privilege of having the Aventador on site, but instead the seats were dropped off and collected from our HQ. The customer has since collected and fitted the seats and is over the moon with the results. A complete transformation from the attempted repair from previous.

Caterham 7 Partial Retrim for GF Williams

Returning to d:class once again is George, also known as GF Williams across social media. This time around we are giving the d:class treatment to George's Caterham 7. As these are kit cars, interior creature comforts are certainly not a priority. We were tasked with retrimming the steering wheel and centre tunnel, however we wanted to do something rather special for George.

Starting with the steering wheel, this has been retrimmed in charcoal Alcantara with an additional racing band in blue Alcantara. This blue was chosen as it is the closest match to the vehicles paint colour you can find, it only seemed right. With this we knew the thread for the hand stitched wheel had to also match. Last but not least, we swapped out the MOMO logo for the Caterham 7 logo which has been embroidered in the same blue thread.

Next up, the centre console. The original console was lacking any flair, shocking really that the car comes like this from factory. Those who have followed us for a while will easily see that this needs altering. So starting off with material, we swapped out the shiny vinyl with some charcoal Alcantara. We ditched the factory foam and trimmed straight onto the centre console panel for a more refined finish. Now for that flair we was speaking of, using our CNC stitching and perforation machine. We perforated the Caterham "7" emblem out of the Alcantara and situated it where it would be most visible. This was then backed with blue Alcantara to match the other blue accents.

Mercedes-Benz 300SL Full Retrim

Here we have probably the prettiest car ever to pass through d:class' doors. The Mercedes-Benz 300SL which received a meticulous full interior restoration and retrim back in 2018. The car came to us with a tired but complete interior, ready for our team of trimmers and fabricators to tackle.

The Seats: we used old timer bamboo leather with period correct basket weave centres for these, accompanied with beige basket weave backs to match the carpet underneath. Tan seat belts with freshly polished buckles lay across these elegant seats.

The dashboard, sills, door cards, deck lid, centre console . A-pillars have all been retrimmed in the stunning bamboo old timer leather. Not forgetting this vehicle is an 'SL' the hood has also been replaced with a brand new royal blue one, perfectly fitting to the cars immaculate blue grey paint. Of course with brand new chrome poppers, keeping the hood nice and tight during poor weather conditions.

For the door cards we made sure to add the pleated door card centre pieces, to the correct OEM specifications of course. Hand woven leather grab handles too with polished chrome trim pieces. All dashboard metal works including the 300SL emblem have been refurbished or replaced to ensure the upmost detailed restoration possible.

As we write this blog post, we are yet to receive another 300SL Roadster or Gullwing through our trim shop. However, we are hopeful that we will soon as these truly are a piece of automotive art and history.

Lotus Exige Partial Retrim for GF Williams

George, also known as GF Williams on social media, approached d:class for some bespoke interior trim work for his beloved Lotus Exige. This is the second car of his we have worked on now. The interior was lacking any flair or excitement considering the Exige is a sports car.

Before and After

George requested for the door cards to be retrimmed in black Alcantara with yellow stitching matching his cars paint.

Next up was the centre console/gear stick surround panel, this was to replace the OEM gear selector cover exposing more of the mechanism underneath. This piece was also trimmed in black Alcantara with the surrounding coming to us already painted yellow.

The dash top and dash pods, like the other areas so far, are also trimmed in black Alcantara. However, the dash top has black diamond quilting instead of the yellow. This is prevents any unwanted reflections in the windscreen.

Mercedes-Benz C107 450SLC

This Mercedes-Benz C107 has undergone a huge restoration. The customer has spared no expense getting their beloved 450SLC to a showroom condition. The majority of this restoration has been created by our neighbours at Multi-Tech Coachworks for the unbelievable paint job. During this process we were tasked with retrimming the front seats, rear seats, boot carpet, rear parcel shelf and installation of a variety of new rubber sills.

We started off with removing the carpets, we done this so we could install some new sound deadening from Dynamat. This helps minimise any road noise and stops causing resonance and vibration. The original carpets were then professionally cleaned as they did not require retrimming due to their excellent condition.

Now for the main part of any retrim, the seats. Parchment grained leather has been used for these, including the front armrest. The seat centre flutes are also parchment but have been perforated to OEM specification. The seats prior to the retrim were in good/okay condition, nothing particularly wrong with them but had definitely seen better days. When going this far with a restoration it is hugely beneficial for the interior to be tip top.

Ferrari 328 Drivers Seat Retrim

A drivers seat for a Ferrari 328 in at d:class HQ for a full retrim. As you can see the before and after comparison is night and day. The seats had been previously connolised and additionally the leather had ripped in places. The debossed prancing horse had totally lost its detail and lastly there was evidence of water damage.

Our customer requested for the seats to be retrimmed in the same OEM colour from new. Even though the seats had been connolised which covered up the original colour, we were able to find areas which avoided the paint to match the new leather to.

We often receive requests for leather connolising, however we tend to avoid these jobs as we prefer to offer permanent solutions as apposed to temporary. Connolising never looks convincing enough as a retrim so we would hate to not meet expectations.

Once the patterns for the seat had been made, Laurence who led this project, set to stitching the seat centre rectangle pattern. Then once all the other panels had been sewn together, this created a cover that was then fitted and hog ringed nice and tight. Seat plastics were also trimmed resulting in a "paint like" finish. The headrests were created separately and debossed with a new prancing horse. We hold plenty of stamps for Ferrari, Porsche, Recaro and other brands, so we had the exact stamp required on file.

The results speak for themselves...

AdamC3046 MGB GT Partial Retrim

We had the pleasure of meeting Adam, also known as AdamC3046 on YouTube, as he required some interior adjustments for his beloved MGB GT. He had recently finished the restoration of his car, however wasn't totally happy with the interior results. After reaching out to his vast audience across social media, Adam received recommendations for d:class and got in contact with us!

When Adam arrived at d:class HQ with his MGB GT, David was shown around the vehicle and the key areas Adam desired changing were pointed out. These included the rear boot carpet, C-pillars, A-pillars, rear quarter tops, both front seat foams, Webasto sunroof and carpet.

If you view the video you will see how Jamie, one of d:class' trimmers, retrimmed these areas. These areas were not trimmed to the correct specification leaving unwanted gaps and exposed metal, meaning the red bodywork was visible. We then set about correcting these trim pieces and areas.

We had the pleasure of seeing Adam once again once the car was completed and ready for collecting. He was blown away by how these small adjustments have resulted in totally different driving experience.

Ferrari 575 Seat Retrim

A pair of Ferrari 575 seats came to d:class HQ for a full retrim. We used Autolux Magnolia nappa leather supplied from @ukhideco . The headrests have been embossed with Ferrari's prancing horse emblem, contrast black stitching has been sewn into the seat centres recreating the OEM design and both upper and lower seat bolsters.

Like all of our bigger projects, we have made a short video of these seats. Laurence, one of our trimmers, leads this project and takes you through the process of how we transformed these seats into works of art.

Build Battle Episode 11

190e Wrap and body kit reveal...finally.

By far the biggest reveal we have had on the Build Battle so far, the wrap and completed body kit for the Mercedes-Benz 190e for Team New Class.

This would of been impossible if it wasn't for our two sponsors; Top Body Kit and S6 Customs limited . The body kit was supplied by Top Body Kit and fitted by the team with guidance and assistance from Multi-Tech Coachworks .

The team spent many hours after work and on weekends to try and get the body kit to fit correctly. Fitting body kits is rarely a matter of bolting on and being done with it, this is where the guys at Multi-Tech came to assist the team.

Once the kit was able to be fitted and removed easily, it was then ready to be sent off to S6 Customs for the livery. Before being sent to S6, Team New Class were in contact back and forth with design ideas for the livery.

It's amazing how far this car has come already. More modifications have already taken place and the retrim has already began, so make sure you're following the build on our YouTube channel and Instagram .

In a previous episode we explain the delay for Team Old School. Their car is currently being worked on so part 2 and 3 of the respray will be released as soon as possible. Feel free to give them a gentle nudge in the comments of this latest episode below.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class Seat Retrim

It is not everyday you see a Brabus edition Mercedes-Benz G-Class on the road, aka "G-Wagen", and this one received a bit of attention during it's time here at d:class HQ. Our customer brought their vehicle to us requesting the factory black nappa leather to be retrimmed with ivory nappa leather. The perforated centres were dropped and replaced with AMG inspired stitching, created by our sister company d:class autostitch on our very fancy CNC stitching and perforating machine.

We were not initially sold on the leather colour choice due to the vehicle being pure white, but credit where credit is due we think it works extremely well.

Tom's Porsche 912 full retrim update (TGE TV)

A little preview of how @tge_ldnm Porsche 912 retrim is getting on. The seats are currently in the final stages of being modified and retrimmed with the black distressed leather Tom picked out, alongside the very special laser etched houndstooth leather seat centres. The dashboard is complete, but we have a very special surprise for Tom, which involved @dclassautostitch special CNC stitching and perforation machine. A brand new custom-made dashboard top panel has been created by our skilful fabrication team as the original was too corroded. We look forward to showcasing the finished interior, all of which have been documented through photo and video

Mercedes-Benz W113 250SL Full Restoration

This Mercedes-Benz W113 250SL has to be one of our most impressive restorations in recent times. Our customer got in contact with us about a car they had recently purchased, but it was in dire need of an interior retrim. As time passed leading up to us receiving the car, the customer informed us they had booked the vehicle in with our neighbours Multi-Tech Coachworks for a respray.

These images are how the car arrived to us at d:class HQ. Promptly after this it was taken into Multi-Tech Coachworks where the respray began. Plenty of hours prepping and painting went into this 250SL, making it one of the cleanest examples out there once it left our possession.

Once Barry and his team at Multi-Tech Coachworks had completed the respray, the vehicle was then handed over to us where the retrim began.

First step on big restoration project like this is to strip the car. Seeming as this was already done, first up was applying the new sound deadening and creating the carpets. We use Dynamat for all of our restoration projects which require it.

All our carpets are totally bespoke to fit to the cars chassis floor pan, this ensures the best result possible with no corners being cut. We are well versed in classis Mercedes-Benz vehicles so only the best materials have been used, twin loop salt & pepper with black vinyl binding. Brand new seat back woods were created with matching twin loop carpets trimmed over.

Once the carpets had been created and fitted, the next step was installing the replacement hood frame and fitting a brand new hood.

The seats have been retrimmed in black classic grain with black basket weave perforated centre flutes. The same black classic grain leather was used for the door cards, deck lid, dashboard panels, A-pillars, windscreen upper panels, kick panels, horn push and ashtray lid.

The sun visors however have been trimmed in ivory classic grain with matching hand stitched thread.

Volkswagen Beetle 1977 Seat Retrim

This set of Volkswagen Beetle seats have seen quite the transformation. The customer originally contacted us through our d:class autosh o p for some blue velour. The material that was purchased was to be used for a retrim, however this changed when the customer collected their material. Once they had seen the standard of our work, they decided to book the retrim in with ourselves.

Below is the before images of the seats. As you can see they were in desperate need of some d:class treatment.

New horse hair pads have been supplied and fitted to the front seat frames to ensure the customer is totally satisfied. As previously mentioned, blue velour has been selected to replace what was and blue vinyl for the borders and piping.

Porsche Panamera Wheel Retrim

Steering wheel retrim in black nappa leather for a Porsche Panamera. The black leather is the same specification to the OEM material to insure that the freshly retrimmed wheel does not look out of place. Light grey stitching, again to OEM spec, has been hand sewn by one of our expert trimmers.

Jaguar XJ220 Full Retrim

A piece of modern British automotive history in this post, the Jaguar XJ220. When this car was released in 1992 it was the fastest production car in the world, topping out at a mere 212mph when tested at the Nardo Test Track in Italy. 30 years later the XJ220 is still one of the most expensive production cars ever to be released at £470,000, and also still one of the prettiest.

This example is not totally standard, given away by the huge rear wing and the lack of concealed headlights. Keen-eyed viewers will spot that it is a Le Mans body kit, just lacking a racing livery. Now for the best part, an unbiased opinion of course, the interior. Tan nappa leather fused with matching tan Dinamica create the perfect blend with the cars green paint.

Starting with the seats, the seat centres were designed by us here at d:class as a homage to the XJ220's front oval grille. This pattern continues onto the door cards and centre console. The steering wheel has been hand stitched with matching thread, accompanied with an embossed Jaguar logo on the horn push.

The dashboard, lower dashboard, headlining, A-Pillars, B-Pillars, sun visors, gear knob, bulkhead panel, as well as all the smaller interior pieces have been retrimmed. Lastly we have the carpet which has been custom made with leather binding to complete this full interior retrim.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Seat Repair

This Lamborghini Aventador SVJ seat came to us for a bolster repair from a dealership. Due to the embroidery and the decorative cross stitch being damaged, replacing the bolster panels was the only way to properly repair the seat. We used our ornamental sewing machine to recreate the cross stitch design. Also, we replaced the embroidered 'SVJ' logo on to a new piece of black Alcantara. The seat bolster panels were then sewn back together and attached to the seat cover, completing this job.

We enjoy working with with dealerships, especially those who enable us to work with the worlds best super and hyper cars. We look forward to working with this company again in the future.

Mercedes-Benz W109 300SEL Full Retrim

This Mercedes-Benz W108 300SEL has received a full d:class retrim apart from headlining and dashboard. We have retrimmed the front seats, rear seats, carpets, armrests and door cards. for this retrim we have replaced the original velour with some brand new OEM Mercedes-Benz grey and grey ribbed velour. This material is becoming harder and harder to come by and not too many businesses posses this original material. Fortunately we keep these materials in stock. Last but not least, we have used black twin loop carpet throughout to finish the trimming portion of this project.

Not only did we retrim the vehicle, but the interior woods have been professionally refurbished back to their former glory. These include the woods for the dashboard and also the window surrounds.

McLaren 675LT Wheel Retrim and Thread Colour Change

This striking McLaren 675LT came to d:class for a seat stitch colour change and a steering wheel retrim. The seat stitching used to be black, however the owner wanted them to match the centre consoles green stitching. The steering wheel was black alcantara with black stitching. Again, the owner requested this to match the green interior theme and that is exactly what we achieved with green stitching. This 675LT is now sporting a green hand stitched steering wheel with fresh black alcantara and updated front seats tying the interior all together.

Ferrari 250 SWB No.1

Here is one of our more exceptional projects to come out of d:class HQ, a full retrim on this Ferrari 250 SWB. The team were very excited when this vehicle arrived and could not wait to get involved. Luckily for them this job required the expertise of many team members, including our fabrication team.

Starting off with the seats, these are very special and totally custom. Essentially starting with just bare mental frames, we have created a totally unique pair of period correct seats that have been trimmed entirely by traditional trimming means. Deep Blue nappa leather from the Autocalf range by UK Hide co has been used for these seats, the leather carries on to the door cards and transmission tunnel. The headliner has also been retrimmed in a cream perforated leather, accompanied with matching B pillar panels. Last but not least is the carpet, made from scratch with Deep Blue Wilton carpet.

Bentley Continental SS Wheel Retrim

Our first post of #2022 and we have a Bentely #wheelswednesda y to kick things off. This B entley C ontinental S uper Sport has been retrimmed in black Alcantara to replace the original leather. A red alcantara racing band has been added and red stitching. The Alcantara and red accents now tie in with the rest of the interior. Swipe through for before and after images.

Porsche 993 Turbo Full Retrim

Here is our latest completed project coming out from d:class automotive, a full retrim of this Porsche 993 Turbo for our loyal customer Oli Ashley (@xlusso on Instagram).

This interior has been specified to the customers wishes, which were to replace the OEM red interior with a more vibrant colour leather option and matching carpet.

We have retrimmed the front seats, rear seats, dashboard, steering wheel, kick panels, door cards, rear quarter panels, headliner, sunroof panel, carpets, handbrake, gear stick and replaced the seat belts. We also had all the woods for the interior refurbished.

Porsche 912 Full Retrim for TGE TV

For those who follow us on Instagram and YouTube, the last time you would have seen Tom's Porsche 912 would have been when we received it and went through the plan of the retrim. Now a few months have passed and Tom has been back to visit us, we can show you all the progression made on the 912.

The first step was to fully strip the cars interior in preparation for the new bespoke carpets. The vehicle was in pretty good condition considering how old the car is which makes our job easier. As said, brand new square box weave carpet throughout with green leather binding to match the Porsche Irish green.

Custom laser etched distressed leather from Crest leather with the Porsche houndstooth patterning. No one else has created such a unique and bespoke interior for a Porsche 912, so be sure to keep an eye out for the finished article.

As Tom has mentioned he is not after a "perfect" restoration per say, it just needs a professional and cared for restoration to return the classic to standard better than factory. We are very excited to be involved and can't wait to show you the process of the remaining dashboard and seats in a future part to this restoration.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Seats

These Lamborghini Aventador SVJ seats came into us for new embroidery as the customer requested for a colour change. The SVJ logo has been replaced from all red to silver and red. A very quick turn around on these for a @lamborghini dealership. We look forward to working with them in the future.

BMW i8 Wheel Retrim

Steering wheel retrim for this BMW i8. The wheel used to be leather but had become shiny due to a lot of use. This has now been changed as it's been retrimmed with charcoal Alcantara with a blue Alcantara racing band. Identical blue thread has been hand stitched to complete this bespoke wheel. The blue used is to match the accents already found in the OEM interior.

Our New Facia is Complete!

The Celica is handed over to the body shop and an update as to why it's been missing.

Well look who has returned, the Celica is back on our channel with a huge update explaining why it has been missing. This episode of the Celica is very speech heavy but we assure you future parts are so much more exciting. Prep, primer, paint, polishing and the team's reaction are all to come. Not only paint, but the wheels being refurbished, audio installation and of course a full bespoke retrim.

McLaren 650s Wheel Retrim

The customer of this McLaren 650s approached us wishing for their steering wheel to be retrimmed. The original was in okay condition but had worn down, shiny areas of leather with mismatched stitching covering up miscounted thread. Our customer also requested for a 12 o'clock band in manufacturer specified yellow leather to exactly match the leather piping found in their interior.

Airstream Retrim

We were contacted by Amazing Airstreams to retrim the seating area for one of their builds. The Airstream has undergone a full restoration and we were approached to assist in retrimming the seating/sleeping area. Amazing Airstreams chose the the material they wished for us to use, this was Vele Jade green leather from Crest Leather . A matching stitch has been used to counterpart the rest of the Airstreams interior and theming. We look forward to working on future projects with Amazing Airstreams .

Mercedes-Benz W100 600 Landaulet Full Retrim

We couldn’t be any prouder of presenting to you the behemoth Mercedes-Benz W200 600 Landaulet. One of only 59 ever built and 50 of those having roofs made to the c-pillar. This example originally had African presidential ownership. We have carried out over the last 9 months, a very thorough and detailed restoration of leather, chrome and wood trim, plus a bespoke convertible top and liner. The interior is fitted to original exacting standards in a new shade of old timer 641 Dark Red leather which just oozes class and luxury. This car has had time and care bestowed upon it to deservedly bring it back to its true former glory.

The preparation to take a car that was completely custom made in every way, to then carry that same procedure and finish again years later is something that we strive on here at d:class. Three of our team members are trained to make soft tops completely from scratch with every required detail.

There are three parts to the soft top of this 600 Landaulet. Once the inner liner is trimmed and fitted an insulated inner padding comes next, hiding the listing bars, keeping exterior noise to a minimum and adding depth to the outer finish. Completing the look is to ensure that it follows the profile of the metal roof as closely as possible without it looking all puffy and big. We hope that you agree that it does just that and it’s proportions are spot on as to how it should be including that large rear screen.

The long detailed process of assembling the 600 Landaulet dash is something not to be rushed. Beautiful old timer leather, new chrome plating, renovated wood and new dash parts and stereo system. Put together with care and precision to give back that original Mercedes hand built quality of it's day. It goes without saying the efforts to trim the dash parts to be wrinkle free around the curves and the dash binnacle joins to be faultless are something we are accustomed to.

Baby Seat Retrim

Another brand new Nuna UK baby seat retrimmed in black leather with white stitching, this was to match the customers Rolls-Royce interior. We also embroidered the headrest with the "RR" logo with the same colour thread. We can't imagine it will stay this clean forever but it does look fantastic! This is the 3rd baby seat retrim we have completed in the last few months, so it seems these are proving to be quite a popular request.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

A very special Lamborghini Aventador SVJ owned by Sam De Haan which came to us for a wheel retrim and door card armrests.

The OEM black alcantara and embossed leather wheel has now been retrimmed to a full black alcantara one. Manufacturer specific purple thread has been used to ensure an exact match to the rest of the interior, this being accompanied with the purple leather racing band.

We also made these custom door card armrests. This Aventador SVJ did not come with any padding from factory, so the task was given to make a totally bespoke pair of armrests. They had to provide some comfort for the driver as well as keeping in style with the rest of the cars interior. Manufacturer specification alcantara has been used which matches other areas of the car, like the steering wheel we retrimmed.

BMW Z8 Hardtop Retrim

BMW Z8 Hardtop we had in for a retrim due to the original material becoming worn and saggy. Amber Glow Alcantara was selected as a replacement to the original material, This is more durable and easier to work with than the OEM product. The glass had to be removed to access those hard to reach areas, ensuring the best possible finish for the vehicles now refreshed hardtop.

Goodwood Revival 2021

Goodwood Revival was another first for us this year. We have previously attended the show as a team outing but decided to trade this year, just like at Festival of Speed back in July of this year. If you was fortunate enough to get tickets to the show, then you could of viewed our live trimming event with your own eyes. We had two Mercedes-Benz W113 280SL's on our stand, one of which was being trimmed through the whole weekend by our team.

We had nothing but good feedback from guests and spectators from the show, explaining how they have never seen a live demonstration of trimming before. Even the team at d:class have expressed how they are already looking forward to next years show, there is growing consensus that we should go bigger and better for next years Revival.

Like Festival of speed, we have put together a small video and an array of images showcasing the event. Seeing members of the public and other traders throwing themselves into the show by dressing period correct to the 40s, 50s and 60s was fantastic.

Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon Full Retrim

Here we have a true representation of the term "Full retrim". This brand new Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon came to d:class HQ for the work. Everything that could be trimmed has been, even down to the smallest of details. The customer was passionate about the car not blending in, and we admire this as it results in a truly one of a kind vehicle.

Starting off with the seats, both front and rear seats have been retrimmed in orange Autocalf nappa leather and perforated centres with twin diamond quilting. Matching orange thread has been used for the stitching. Keeping to the quilting theme, the headliner has a huge centre panel with the same design. The rest of the headliner and pillars are again smothered in orange nappa leather. Centre armrest, dashboard, under dashboard, floor mats and even grab handles have all been retrimmed.

Next up is the steering wheel and dashboard trim pieces. The wheel has been retrimmed in the same orange nappa leather, further more the wheel has been modified with painted top and bottom sections and steering control surrounds have been professionally painted in piano black. The centre console and dashboard trim pieces have also received the same treatment resulting in a very elegant and refined environment to be situated in.

Land Rover Defender Full Retrim

Land Rover Defender we recently retrimmed. Alongside retrimming this amazing vehicle, we also modernised the Defender with a few modern comforts as requested by our customer. These include heated seats, a bespoke flip down front third seat which doubles as an armrest, a pioneer double din head unit with DAB radio / bluetooth telephone / app connect, collapsible rear seats with seat belts, upgraded speakers including two hidden under seat subwoofers and more.

The roof has been retrimmed in black Alcantara with black nappa leather side panels. New black carpet has been used to match the rest of the interior. The front and rear seats have been trimmed in Dattel grained leather and you can see more of this on the doorcards. Black nappa leather dashboard which is totally bespoke to this vehicle really makes this a one off. Lastly, matching tan seat belts complete this retrim.

Morgan 3-Wheeler Full Retrim

Here we have a very peculiar 'car', if you can call it that, a Morgan 3-Wheeler. This vehicle was with us for a full colour change retrim with a custom seat centre pattern. Electric blue Hi-Line nappa leather was used throughout the retrim with colour matched Chiron inspired stitching for the seats, centre console and floor mats. The centre console was also embroidered with the Morgan emblem and the backrest had the 60-years special addition logo printed in black. The original trim on the car was a very bland red which was not offering much excitement to the customer, so was upgraded with a full d:class interior.

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021 was a first for us here at d:class, this year was the first time ever we had a trade stand. 2020 should of been the first year but due to COVID-19 and the restrictions that come with that, sadly the show was postponed. However, FOS this year went ahead as planned and it did not disappoint. We was fortunate enough to have the McLaren MSO SLR on our stand which we retrimmed last year. If you was lucky enough to attend the show then hopefully you were able to appreciate the McLaren on our stand. We thank those who spoke with us through the weekend and gave us praise on the interior of the SLR.

A returning customer with their Ferrari 360. The car came to us with a pair of seats which were not originally from this vehicle. The customer tried and tested a few pairs of seats and these were the ones they wanted. This is where d:class comes in to the equation, to retrim the seats to match the rest of the cars leather interior. Tan nappa leather with matching stitching has been used alongside the prancing horse embossing onto the headrests. #dclassauto

The New d:class Office

As you can see our office used to look very different. It was a make shift tea room, store room and home to general clutter that had no where else to go. Our now previous office was situated down the side of the building which was never easy for customers to spot, so we knew something had to be done. The front room was the best place for the office to be moved to as it is the closest part of the building to our customer parking spaces.

The first step was to knock through the front wall to allow for a customer entrance. After this, the floors had to be re concreted to ensure a flat even surface with an additional slope for disabled access. Once this was done we began prepping the walls for the interior panelling.

The new panelling was put up in the new customer waiting area, we have never been able to offer comfortable seating for customers until now. These panels are matching those that are in our hood room to keep a matching theme throughout the process. Painting followed next this with our new d:class colour scheme of dark grey.

Dan from D and A Carpentry then began creating our new reception counter tops and desks from scratch.

Lastly we began designing and creating the leather trimmed panels which are mounted to the front of the office desks. These are made from metallic grey leather with a bespoke brick CNC Pattern from our sister company d:class autostitch.

Ferrari 458 Wheel Retrim

Ferrari 458 wheel retrim. Our customer requested for a stitch colour change from red to black on the steering wheel and dashboard pieces. New black nappa and perforated leather has been used for this wheel to match the OEM specifications from Ferrari. As mentioned we have also retrimmed the leather dashboard pieces and changed the stitching to black. finally, we replaced the silver interior plastic trim pieces with carbon fibre trims supplied by the customer. This customer has a stunning Ferrari collection, some of which are already booked in for future work with us.

d:class McLaren 600LT Applik Interior Retrim

Today marks a major new milestone for automotive interiors with the combined design and workings between d:class automotive and Formation Industries sub-brand @appli_k with the unveiling of over 500 hours of combined work with @dclassauto to bring an entirely new era in automotive interior design and processes to the market.

During a meeting between David Price and designer Chris Mcgee in 2020, the idea to create a collaborative interior for the demo McLaren 600LT was put forward, and little did they know quite how much it would change everything.

Over 350 hours of design concepts, test panels, and painstaking production have given life to the interior and more so to redefine the visual and textural expectations for automotive interiors going forward.
Drawing inspiration from classic marquetry and over 8 years of perfecting Chris’s work with @alcantara_company beautiful materials, a 3D visual and textural panel was created, that still allowed for comfort and flexibility. Yet offering a visually stunning and captivating interior that must be seen to fully appreciated.

@dclassauto put in over 150 painstaking hours into bringing the panel pieces to life and creating their interpretation of the @Appli_k panel work with their in-house CNC @dclassautostitch stitch into the seat base, door cards, and lumbar support which was brought together with the panels from Applik with beatiful stitching. The orange micro-piping acts like a picture frame to the shapes and contains them whilst ensuring that you are drawn in deeply. Flawlessly combing the panels into sublime, comfortable, and desirable pieces, in a way only d:class automotive does, giving the car a feeling of a high fashion model, ready to display on the catwalk.

Mercedes-Benz G Wagon Parcel Shelf Fabrication

It is not always full retrims and restorations here at d:class, sometimes it's about making totally unique and bespoke items. Today for example we have this Mercedes-Benz G Wagon, the customer wanted a durable and sturdy parcel shelf to double as a safe place to situate their dog carry case. We took measurement of the carry case dimensions and fabricated this piece from scratch to ensure no wiggle room. Rear passenger seats are no obstructed and still function as they should.

BMW Z3M Coupe Wheel Retrim

BMW Z3M Coupe which had it's steering wheel retrimmed in black grained leather. The original leather had been completely worn down by years of use and as a result had become shiny and flat. The original wheel also had tri-coloured M stitching which lost all it's colouring from use. The freshly retrimmed wheel now has brand new stitching bringing the interior on this modern classic back up to date.

The customer also requested for us to carry out a seat base and bolster repair on the drivers seat. The seat had become very worn, like the steering wheel, due to age and use of the vehicle.

We have loved having this Z3M Coupe here with us. They are becoming more and more of a rarity on the roads these days, so it is great to see one getting some needed TLC by us at d:class automotive.

Here at d:class we are always happy to help our customers when they like to work on their own vehicles. Here we have a dashboard from a Volkswagen Touran that we trimmed that was provided to us. We completed this retrim to our customers required specific specifications which was then going into his Volkswagen Caddy. He has done a superb job at fitting it all in himself and was over the moon with the finish that we provided. We're sure you can agree that it makes it a lot nicer environment to be in compared to the original grey plastic.

This @nuna_uk child seat has been completely retrimmed in sea shell calf nappa leather with royal blue piping for @nicksinghsahota Rolls-Royce Cullinan. We also embroidered the "RR" logo into the headrest of the seat, royal blue thread was used to match the piping. The seat was fitted back together and ready for the customer. Audi R8 Seat Centres, Wheel and Gear Selector Retrim

We have this striking second generation Audi R8 V10 Spyder. Our repeat customer requested for the original seat centres to be retrimmed to break up the heavy amount of uninspiring grey leather. We have retrimmed these centres in red nappa leather with debossed R8 emblems. We have also retrimmed the gear selector with the same red leather and restitched the steering wheel with a vibrant red thread. One more striking interior and one very happy customer.

Mercedes-Benz 280SL W113 Pagoda Full Retrim

Here is the Mercedes-Benz 280SL W113 Pagoda we retrimmed. A full interior retrim and hood supplied and fitted. Freshly retrimmed seats, carpets, door cards, dashboard, horn push, decklid and more. We think the outcome is truly remarkable and has completed this Pagodas restoration. These are becoming more and more popular so we look forward to seeing more in the future.

McLaren 720S Pair of Seats Retrim

A pair of McLaren seats retrimmed for a 720S which have undergone a colour and material change. These seats are now sporting full Alcantara centres compared to the previous leather and all the stitching changed to blue. Mercedes-Benz 280SL W113 Pagoda Full Retrim

So here it is, our first finished project of 2021, a Mercedes-Benz W113. This vehicle had been previously trimmed using the wrong leather, wrong perforation and missing the finer details. Our customer chose to have the entire car trimmed using old timer, veg tan leather including period correct basket weave for the seat centres and leather piping. A rear seat conversion has been made from scratch allowing a third person to enjoy what a wonderful car this now is. Blue Twin loop carpet throughout, again all made in-house by our talented team. The wood and metal trim has also been refurbished back to their former glory completing this W113 project.

Audi RS4 Avant Interior Retrim

Another Audi RS4 Avant leaves d:class HQ sporting a fresh retrim. With only 11,000 miles on the clock, this mint example now has an interior to complement its pristine exterior. The seats, door card inserts, centre armrest and gear selector have all been retrimmed in black nappa leather, with red contrast stitching. The door cards and seats are treated to OEM style quilting. The steering wheel has been trimmed in OEM embossed leather with matching contrast red stitch. Lamborghini Urus Partial Retrim

Lamborghini Urus, for this car we have retrimmed the seat centres in white nappa leather with a Lamborghini Qcintra stitch pattern. These have been perforated and stitched by @ dclassautostitch to match the OEM specifications. Black thread has been used to match the black leather which remains on the upper and lower seat bolsters. We have also retrimmed the centre armrest to match the new seat centres. #dclassauto

Audi R8 V10 spyder. Here we have the finished results for you. Our customer requested for the standard seats to be retrimmed in clay-coloured nappa leather, with an additional black Alcantara centre stripe. The headrests have been debossed with the R8 logo and finally, black stitch detailing has been added throughout. We also retrimmed the door arms to tie the whole car together. This maxicosi child seat has been completely retrimmed in cyan calf nappa leather to match the customers Rolls-Royce Cullinan. We also Quilted the seat centres with a colour matched thread, all fitted back together and ready for the customer. Definitely a unique baby seat which will stand out from the rest.

McLaren Laminated Alcantara Senna Seat Pads

Nothing gives us a greater pleasure than being involved in the opportunity to work with great people and trim great cars and that applies to the people involved down at @lanzantelimited and working on the interiors for their road conversions of the McLaren Senna GTR. Always entrusted to complete work to their highest, demanded standard and deliver a product that stretches the boundaries of what is possible. We worked with our good friend @lasercut.london who produced the incredible detailed work for the shoulder pads in a ‘launch spec’ cut finish. Which we then trimmed into the covers, adding detailed in-house ‘GTR’ embroidery and a micro piping for the seats. To completely finish the interior, we also trimmed the half steering wheel, the door tops, plus the upper and lower dash in blue @alcantara_company with orange detail and supplied orange seat belts to achieve this automotive interior work of art. The stunning pictures taken by @a3.rud give the full interior transformation, followed by the progress pictures on how it was all achieved. Further ongoing works which are happening daily here at d:class have included our own dedicated leather stores room, specific racking for vinyl, Alcantara and carpet. Foam roll storage and future racking to come for fixtures and fittings, stock, and production parts. A large cutting bench for marking and cutting of our sold stocks and shelving for consumables.

Mercedes-Benz 280SE W111 Full Retrim

This Mercedes-Benz W111 cabriolet has been transformed into something quite fantastic at d:class. The vehicles front and rear seats have been professionally retrimmed in grained tan leather, with period-correct basketweave perforated seat centres.
Bespoke velour carpets and floor mats have been created to compliment the new look with matching leather binding. Last, but not least, we have the vehicles hood, which now boasts new headlining, foam padding and rear screen. The mohair cover has been reused due to its good condition. Mercedes-Benz SL60 AMG R129 which received some d:class treatment. We have retrimmed the front seats and rear bench, some bespoke floor mats, a hood retrim, a hardtop headliner retrim and lastly some speaker grill covers. The hood had become deteriorated over the years of use and the hardtop headlining began to come away and sag. In all, this R129 has been returned to its former glory. Destined for China, we are confident the customer will be satisfied with the results. #dclassauto

A set of Mercedes-Benz R107 seats and door cards. As you can see by the photographs these seats were in desperate need of a retrim. Mismatching vinyl, collapsed seat foams, rusty seat frames and warped door cards are some of the reasons why this vehicle received some d:class treatment. Yamaha XVS650 seat retrim. Customer wanted something special so it was only right we used our CNC machine at @dclassautostitch for the job. A distressed two tone brown leather with brown stitching has been used with a pattern from the autostitch design catalogue. Lastly the seat has been finished off with some hand stitching. Ferrari 612 Scaglietti which received a roof lining retrim as the original had began to sag and come away. The original piece was rather weighted so we created a lighter alternative to ensure a permanent hold. Mercedes C107 SLC in for a partial retrim. We have retrimmed the front seats, rear seats, carpets, over mats, front door cards, rear door cards and arm rests. The brown MB tex and cloth seats have been retrimmed in a lovely middle red leather with diamond perforated centres. Part of the door cards replaced with the same perforated leather. The brown carpet has been swapped out for a dark red wilton to match the now two tone interior.

Yamaha XJR1300 Seat Retrim

A Yamaha XJR1300 seat that's had a full retrim in black vinyl. The foam was lowered and reshaped to the customer's request. @dclassautostitch designed and made the pattern section for the seat. We then made a finished cover using a single stitch detail around the border before fitting to the seat base.

Today we have a Volkswagen Amarok V6 which has had piping added to all of the original seats. We took the original seats out and removed the covers. The customer chose the colour and we made the orange piping from scratch. Lastly we pieced the seats back together and refitted them into the car. This Bugatti Veyron was with us for a driver's seat repair. The seat base and inner bolster was retrimmed in black nappa leather with red stitching to match the OEM specification. Lamborghini Urus Retrim

This brand new Urus came to us, working with one of our great customers @mr.o.j. a for a part interior retrim including front and rear seats, door card panels, overmats, centre console and more. The original black leather has been replaced with turquoise calf nappa and graphite Alcantara with matching turquoise stitching. @ d:class autostitch created the seat centres with our OEM design services.

Ford Focus RS mk3 we had in for front and rear seat centres to have material changes. Seat centres have been changed from cloth to leather, as well as recreating the 'RS' embroidered logo onto leather. @dclassautostitch designed and created the pattern on the seat centres to exactly match the OEM specifications.

Motorbike Seat Retrim

This customer came to us with a motorbike seat they had fabricated themselves. We were asked to create something funky so it only made sense to use our @dclassautostitch CNC machine for the design. Sunbeam Tiger Retrim

Sunbeam Tiger which has had door cards, seats and centre console retrimmed in black leather from the Autocalf range from @ukhideco . Customer requested some red piping to match the vibrant colour of the car. As you can see from the images showing the condition prior to visiting d:class, some areas of the interior were most certainly looking rather tired. This has now all been corrected with some lovely new leather and the red piping really does compliment the refreshed interior.

Seat base repair and seat belt re-webbing for this BMW M4. New Merino Silverstone leather with square perforated patterning to OEM specification and M sport coloured belts. We have also done some leather connolising to the seat bolsters which had some signs of wear.

Original Mercedes hood supplied and fitted for this 420SL. The previous hood had seen better days due to old repairs and some vandalism, so a nice upgrade was due. We also fitted some new bonnet insulation as the old one was incorrectly fitted.

Mercedes-Benz W113 280SL Pagoda we completed a full retrim on. The vehicle was undergoing a full restoration so went elsewhere after receiving the full d:class treatment. Hopefully one day we get the opportunity to see the vehicle as a complete restoration. We have worked long and hard on this #280sl but we are over the moon with the results. Seats retrimmed in red leather, new carpets, supplied hood fitted, seatbelts, door cards, dashboard, sun visors, under dash, centre box and more.
